Good signing for Buffalo. Think he can be a 30-40 point center on a bad team and this really has no down side.

He scored four goals in a game once. Sad that that is pretty much the high point of his career.

Janko’s favourite player was Maxim Afinigenov growing up if I remember correctly. Sabres loading up on kids with Sabres pajamas.

One of those goals, if I recall, was a shorty where he overpowered four guys and came out in front to score it.

Felt like a guy with a unique combination of skill, skating and size.

But I think he lacks the aggression and ability to think the game at a high level. So instead he's just a big guy that can skate.

			What a waste of talent.
He had the size but refused to be physical.

He is an enigma to me. Show me one goal in his rookie season that was just 'lucky'. You can't. Those were all goal scorer goals IIRC. Skates well. Made some high-end passes that were sometimes not capitalized on too - a way better playmaker than most will give him credit for.

I don't know how he faded, but he faded. He looked like a pretty good 2nd line centre in the making. Just disappeared. I really liked him, and I have no clue how he ended up being out of the NHL and trying to get back in at this point. Wish him well though - I hope he becomes a good player eventually.

I think it’s just the passion. I bet Sutter could get him to become consistent in his effort.
