Shut up Elliotte. Bieksa should be the only one allowed to comment on that play.

The guy turned. But you have to make that call. Five is steep, but both are kind of guilty. He crushed him.
Bieksa is right.

He was taking that route to the puck with his numbers to Lucic the entire time. The size difference makes it worse but you can’t be making that hit if you’re Lucic.
If it’s Kylington that gets crushed like that and leaves the ice bleeding I doubt we are saying it shouldn’t be a penalty.
|
What? How can you watch a replay of that hit and say that? Look at his skates. His back is absolutely not facing Lucic in the second still.
Then when Lucic is a foot away from him they flip.

Meh even if Lucic does get suspended will be a nice break for him. He ain't young and could benefit from a game off.
I doubt there will be a suspension as Jets player put himself in a bad spot.

His back was towards Lucic the whole way.

Kyller didn't bleed, I guess.

I noticed the same thing. Panel seems intent on convincing the world the Jets are great now. I don't see it.

Maybe but both his lower and upper body was turning to the left and it woulda been a rub out from the side. At the last second he completely repositions himself to the right. Really dumb play on his part, that’s how you get really hurt. They teach that in peewee

Has Kylington played after his boarding?

What?
He’s facing the endboards in every single screenshot there. His skates are parallel with the red line in every single screen shot.
Demelo needs to protect himself better but Lucic can’t try to run him through the end boards in that situation.
If anything it’s Lucic that changes from coming more from the side to directly behind him in the final frame.

His back is still towards Lucic in every pic.
All of which is frozen frame that doesn't account for the play in real time.

Watch the replay from the ice level camera in the corner. He's turns his head and sees Lucic coming around the goal line, then turns his back to him.
If Kylington, I'm annoyed that he made a stupid play. You don't want to see a guy injured, and I hope he's okay, but you have to protect yourself.

It’s a penalty . Maybe even a 5…
BUT
It’s the exact same play (maybe not even as bad ) as the hit in the first
Just because one guy is bigger shouldn’t change the call

the screenshot clearly shows lucic intended to go for the left shoulder and he turned after lucic was already committed

Yeah, not sure going frame by frame helps Lucic’s case much there. It was a dumb hit and I think the right call was made.
