On one hand, it’s a high, bad hit. On the other, he turned and put himself in a bad spot.
I didn’t see intent to injure. Just a really big guy hitting a smaller guy badly.

I don’t think he turned at all.
He was taking that route to the puck with his numbers to Lucic the entire time. The size difference makes it worse but you can’t be making that hit if you’re Lucic.
If it’s Kylington that gets crushed like that and leaves the ice bleeding I doubt we are saying it shouldn’t be a penalty.

Nothing in the game drives me crazy more than this.
Half the fans see it as a dangerous hit. Ignoring why it became that way. Also, how brain dead are the players that consistently do this to themselves?

His numbers were always facing Lucic though. He was going in first after the puck.
I agree DeMelo needs to protect himself better, but Lucic can't throw that hit either.
