The Canucks' Unprotected 1st is also hardly an insignificant piece.
Biggest problem I have with your post here is you suggest Boeser would sign a contract in the 6-7M range when he has a QO of 7.5M.

Why is Brock such a good guy that he takes upwards of 1.5M less on his QO where Tkachuk certainly takes more?

If this play keeps up and they don't do the post ASG fall into the playoff thing they did with Peters, I don't think they'll be doing much trading and stockpiling. Still think the moves they would make are for RFAs like they did with Lindy and Hanifin.

Bastian is interesting, always like him in NJ. Would think he gets claimed.

Could this be related to Duehr being sent down? Not saying I know anything about him but he's a right shot haha

Of course we're like 3rd in the league in pts% so 30th in waiver claim priority

Bastian = Big . Big = Good. At this point lets just stack the bottom lines with Mutants.

He’s a former second rounder, he’s big and he’s tough. I liked him in his draft year, and with the Devils. Footspeed was an issue before he was drafted, and while he’s improved quite a bit, he’s still no burner. He’s basically Cole Huckins in 4-5 years. I like him, but there must be reasons why he can’t mantain a spot on that squad-my money is still on him getting claimed. I wouldn’t mind taking him, just to see what Darryl could do with him.

News out of San Jose is that they are willing to retain salary in order to trade Evander Kane. I think Sutter might just be the guy to be able to turn his career around.

I still think some contending team signs Bobby Ryan for veteran depth as some point before the deadline this season. He was decent last season in Detroit and would have made their team this year if Raymond wasn't a freak of nature.

He said he intends on playing and seems like the kind of veteran Sutter would do well with.

I doubt with the team playing the way they are, that they are looking at any major subtractions and if you can add a player without giving anything up, I say go for it.

Good Lord, No. Flames have been the best they've been in years, they don't need to bring in a locker room cancer with tons of off ice baggage.

Sutter doesn't pursue players to turn them around and wouldn't ask Treliving to do so. he seeks players that already fit his MO. He will turn players around if they are already on the team, but he's not asking for the etxra work of getting a reclamation project.

Kane is beyond saving.

Its just a matter of what victim gets pulled into his black hole of destructiveness next.

The key is to not let it be you.

I’d rather rent Patrick Kane, and I despise Patrick Kane.

What about Joe Pavelski as a trade deadline rental pickup?

I'd be all for adding Rakell but Anaheim trading him to us seems less likely.

Pavelski checks a lot of boxes. But his 3 team trade list pretty much means he calls where he will go.

Being one of the better teams in the league at the moment would have to help our chances...

Pavelski does seem like a dream add. I think the Stars will hang on to him for quite a bit longer to see if they can get going.
