No. Websites will allow you to cash out your bet during game as the odds move even on individual games. Sometimes it's not worth it but at 30:1 even if he gets out with 300k, that's an amazing return.

#### yeah.

Lots of chatter amongst baseball pundits that the Jays are looking to spend in a big way. This would be a hell of a start.

I'm guessing 5 years at $22 million AAV but hoping for less.

22 AAV would be outstanding. With the Cy Young in his back pocket and Wheeler's contract for a comparison I think he could get 25.

I'm not complaining, because it comes down to the dollar term and structure (hopefully/likely front loaded), but I wasn't too keen on his positioning as soon as the season was over. Seemed like the Jays would have to overpay to get him to consider, and with the extra year or so with his age, we know this won't age well beyond 3 years. Hopefully he can be an effective reliever by then, but to some degree I was hoping they could look to another arm as there are plenty. So I'm not complaining, but I don't fully know what to think yet.

Looks like Bob McCown may have been duped by a fake Rosenthal...

Damn, I checked McCown's account, didn't think he'd be duped....sorry about that.

So it begins,
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/busi...debt-ahead-of/

Drama in the boardroom forces out the CFO on try number two. A huge incoming debt to buyout Shaw.
MLSE stake too complicated and lucratively strategic to mess with.
So, the Jays are the cash cow on the block. Or part of them. And/or Skydome.

However it turns out, I really can't see the $ spend increasing in the years ahead, no matter who owns it or how much, at least until Rogers starts making pure profit on their Shaw investment.

Too bad about McCown falling for the fake Rosenthal. I still think we’ve got a good shot at Ray. He seemed to really enjoy being a Blue Jay and he has a legit chance to win the World Series with the Jays.

Call me old fashioned, but sports teams should be owned by a soulless billionaire (or several) not a soulless corporation.

I’ve always wondered when the Blue Jays might just move over the MLSE too.

So the Braves locked up Acuna well before Arbitration. The Padres did it with Tatis. And now the Rays with Franco. You gotta think Bo and Vladdy’s camp are starting to salivate a little bit.

Baseball is too volatile. You look at where things are trending with peoples short attention spans, and the history of sports in Toronto, and the Leafs will always be number one. Quickly across the country the Raps are number two and growing. Baseball by nature doesn't have many cool moves to replicate, moves pretty slow in comparison, and there's a larger investment required salary wise to field a competitive team. Gate revenue never seems like a sure thing. MLSE has a cash cow as long as they want it to be. Introduce the Jays and suddenly in bad seasons the cash cow may have to supplement the profit losses the Jays may have. I believe the Teachers Pension still owns a portion of MLSE too. If the new stadium brings a new fan base I'm sure MLSE would be interested, but as is right now Rogers Centre has a stigma and I don't believe that allows for too many new fans year in and out.

Whenever the Jays are remotely relevant, the entire country gets on board.

They won’t suffer bad, directionless baseball, because it’s baseball and there are a billion other things people could do.

But give us a reason, and we’re there.

Good for him. Performed well enough to get his bag.

I think he has Roark written all over him. But wish him success and will be curious to see how he does under the arch.

I liked him a lot. Nothing too flashy, but solid. Good for him. Was a solid pickup by the Jays.

Nothing shocking, but still pretty cool. Some awesome performances last season.

A trio of Toronto Blue Jays has been named to the all-MLB first team, recognizing their stellar 2021 seasons.

First baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr., second baseman Marcus Semien and left-hander Robbie Ray all received the honour Tuesday, while outfielder Teoscar Hernandez was picked for the second team.
