Absolutely have to add a top 6 scoring winger. Tarasenko right now would look mighty good.

Valimaki takes his spot and maybe Mackey slots in at #7?

Mangiapane and Tarasenko on the same line would be a goalie’s nightmares come true. Two legit shots who aren’t afraid to release from all over the ice and both have a nose for the net and possess lethal one timers.

Gaudreau - Lindholm - Tkachuk
Mangiapane - Backlund - Tarasenko

Not necessarily WRT to Lucic. Once the Flames pay off their $2.625M portion of his $3M signing bonus on July 1st, there may be internal budget teams that are more than interested in taking his $5.25M cap hit before the season starts, because he'll only be owed 0.875M in actual dollars. And I think he will waive his NMC, considering it'll be his final contract year and he has already waived it for Seattle.

I feel like Lucic waving his NMC for Seattle was more of a "calculated risk" on his part. I think he was pretty confident he wouldn't be selected and did the team a solid.

From what you see on instagram and from interviews, he seems to enjoy Calgary and his family is settled in. Obviously just pure speculation on my part, but I don't think he'll waive.

I kind of get a Kobasew vibe from Dube. Good player, but just kind of marching off step from the rest of his line.

Well I didn't think all three would happen at the same time. That said I would like the look the following lines for a couple of games.

Gaudreau - Lindholm - Coleman
Tkachuk - Backlund - Mangiapane
Pelletier - Monahan - Jarnkrok
Lucic - Dube - Duehr/Pitlick

I agree with you that there would be too many bodies in that scenario.

Pretty tough to sit lewis and richardson. They have been solid.

I think we should trade MT. We need to keep OK and eats bread. We could still get a haul for Tachuck. But we probably trade him at the draft.

Why? Why not try to, you know, compete for the cup? Tkachuk gives us the best chance to do that. Move him in the summer if you have to but moving him in season when we're winning is straight stupid.

I agree that Tkachuk is the best candidate to move. There will be a market for him and we'd get a lot.

But that's obviously on hold until we see what Gaudreau does. Can't lose both and we at least have an RFA year left with Tkachuk.

Naw Pitlick is $1.75. It’s Lewis and Richardson at $800K and Ritchie at $900K who don’t save money.

But IMO Pitlick can play a very good defensive game and kill penalties really well. He can’t easily be replaced by an AHL player.

Agreed. He’s better than filler. Would be nice if he could score 8-10 goals but that would probably make him 2.25

Hard to believe we are paying Pittlick 1.75 this season...besides being decent defensively/on the PK, he provides very little and doesn't fit on any line right now

Isn’t 4th line over $5m?

Why not flip positions for Monahan and Dube? Monahan at LW and Dube at centre. Monahan can still take key faceoffs if that is a comcern.
