Average point percentage in the NHL, since loser points came in, is usually right around .550. The Flames are at .571 for this road trip with the points they have already earned. A win in Boston would put them at .714.
I have to call that a successful trip no matter what happens tomorrow.
P.S. Thanks for the writeup, Bingo!

In terms of "didn't see a start like this", at the intermission of the game, it was discussed they thought this shouldn't be unexpected. I think it was Hrudey who said this is where they expected them to be last year. But this seems even more and as you say, I didn't expect this start.

I certainly didn't expect this start and am still pretty guarded on my expectations, but I will just enjoy the ride.
As for this game, I thought the Islanders were better by a slight margin, but Markstrom was the difference. It makes up for the first two games where the Flames were the better team but couldn't get the win. It happens and I feel these things usually average out over the season. Being game 6 of a 7 game eastern road trip, they played great. Sutter's deployment, line balancing, and game management is paying dividends right now in terms of how much energy the team still has.

By my quick count, the power plays on this trip have been 26-16 in favour of the home teams. That means that the Flames have played an entire period more than their opponents, short-handed.
1) Considering that, the 3-1-2 record is amazing
2) No wonder they're tired, adding that on top of an exhausting schedule
I am not going to try and suggest that the refs are biased, but it is difficult to accept that the Flames have committed 62% more infractions than their opponents, over a 6 game stretch.

Am I misreading or how are all the lines and defense with a positive xgf, but the team as a negative? Did we get rolled when the lines were mixed up?

This is absolutely ridiculous. Kudos to the Flames for battling through that disgusting level of bias from NHL officials.

Those ratings are the lines coming into the game. The fancy stat summary at the end is the game itself in results.

I think it was in one of your game takes from an earlier game this season, or maybe from the resulting discussion - but it is nice having 4 lines where you don't hold your breath when you send the fourth line out and hope they don't get hemmed in or make mistakes. The forward group has been rock solid this season, even the lines that aren't scoring a lot.
