Mangiapane is crushing it, just unreal hockey by him and I like that 2nd line combo with Backs and Coleman through their first two looks. Markstrom was incredible and the number one reason the Flames stayed ahead and hung on to win. I’m marvelling at this club right now and pinching myself, such consistent efforts game in game out and with a tough, tough schedule to start. What’s not to love right now as a Flames fan!?

Last game of this long road trip tomorrow. After that first loss to Montreal the team had at least one point in the next 5, getting 8 out of a possible 12 points. Not too shabby, but a win tomorrow would make this trip a homerun, imo.

I must say I was sweating when it became 3-2 and Isles were pressing.
Especially after Hrudey and Ball both said Flames would win during 2nd intermission.
I cannot remember the last time any TV announcer declared a victor with a 2 goal lead at the 2nd intermission. Worst lead in sport!
Markstrom's butterfly positioning is outstanding. Several pucks hit his pads because they were down fast on every shot even when they were redirected.
I don't know how Tre is going to sign Johnny, Chucky and Eatbread and stay under the cap. But not worth worrying about it now I guess!

3-1-2 thru 6 on this road trip for 8 out of 12 possible points. Awesome!

Great game to watch. Had a blast. Would watch another.

Not going to lie - when I saw this tweet from SportsNet960, my first thought was that a social media staffer was getting fired before I realized it was an “Eat Bread” reference.

Flames were exhausted and still held on. That hasn't happened for a long time.

I expect they might be a little tired tomorrow, so if they can snag at least a point I'll be happy. 2 would be gravy.

Bruins played today too, Flames are less rested for sure but not as bad as them sitting and waiting

I would like to see that, the 3rd pairing didn't look very good tonight. Nice to see the Flames get the 2 points but they didn't deserve it the way they played in their own end.

I don't see the need to scratch Gudbranson. Stone in for Zadorov might be good though

The isles were playing really desperate hockey. Great to see the Flames hold on.

I don't even know how they'll be able to play...they looked absolutely knackered for a lot of the 3rd.
I thought, with about 8 minutes to go, Monny and his line (but especially 23) had a phenomenal shift hemming the Isles in their zone and really generating some good counterbalance. Nice to see.
That was a butt-clencher for sure at the end.

Lindholm is +15, which is the best in the NHL among forwards, and 2nd overall behind only Ekblad. He is also 2nd in team scoring and still producing at a PPG pace.
If he keeps this up, he should be a consideration for the Selke.
