The system includes the law. The fact that a kid can take a weapon out on the streets and shoot people with no recourse is an extremely poor reflection on the system, and their society in general. Ya, fine, he claimed self defense. But that he can get that far into it, and it's just a shoulder shrug is baffling. Maybe some people are happy to enjoy living in a society like that. I'm not. It's broken. Badly.

Bull#### and self defense shouldn’t have applied here.
He grabbed an assault rifle, drove to a different city, seeked out the protestors, and then killed people.
Self defense should not apply under those conditions, no matter what the other circumstances might be.

It's absolutely broken, I just don't agree with laying it all at this kids feet. His victims had no business being there either. The whole system is broken

Sickening on so many levels. First that it is not surprising he was found not guilty, second how someone can roll into a protest with an AR-15 and get away with what he did, just everything. Depressing.

I think it was the right verdict, but I also think people are correct in vilifying Rittenhouse. He should not have been there with a fully loaded assault rifle to begin with. Just because he was justified in his shooting doesn’t mean he made good decisions. This kid, while innocent, is still an idiot and I hope to God he isn’t made into a martyr.
You don’t need an assault rifle to clean up graffiti and you can’t be calling yourself a medic when the only training you have is basic first aid.
So yeah, the verdict is correct but this kid is still a POS loser.

It still baffles my mind that legally(due to a murky wording) Rittenhouse was allowed to walk around the streets brandishing and pointing a "long barrel" AR 15 with FMJ rounds at bystanders (that he was not legally allowed to purchase himself or carry on his persons unless used for hunting) but would have faced criminal charges had he been in possession of a ninja star or a pair of nunchuks instead. Wrap your head around that one.

Anyone who's surprised by this verdict didn't pay attention or treated this like a political show trial. You can be upset with the broken american culture of gun nuts, and think that this kid and his mom made very stupid decisions. But this was the right verdict for the law.

Was always gonna go this way. Based on the laughable laws, the correct decision. Even if the jury convicted, the judge was going to declare a mistrial.
Can only mean wonderful things for the next time race-relations in the states boils over into protests, riots, etc. Better show up in a tank.
