It sure feels like a shot.

You don’t know how close the Flames were to landing Eichel. Nobody even knows what was offered.

such a dumb post

that is a shot

It remains to be seen what Eichel is and if Eichel is a net gain over Tuch, Krebs, Patches, whoever

I would have traded a lot of Eichel, not the rumored Tkachuk package

none of us know how it will turn out, crying about it daily or "losing sleep" is stupid

More accurately, you choose to be a negative, pessimistic, Flames-can-do-no-right kind of fan. While Dino chooses to be a positive, optimistic, glass-is-half-full kind of fan. Considering fandom is mostly a hobby, or leisure activity/interest I don't understand why you'd want to consistently hate on a team that you have chosen to follow.

This is not accurate if you go follow my posting history as it relates to the Flames. To say I’m always negative is simply not true.

I love the Flames, always will.

It’s not a shot, you consistently and vehemently defend the Flames, regardless of context. There’s nothing wrong with that at all.

It doesn’t make you right all the time though.

Well, we have three productive wingers who are due big extensions.

We can’t keep all of them.

One of them structured his contract so as to get him to UFA ASAP with the most amount of money.

One of them is, at worst, a top-20 player in the league.

One of them is a 6th round diamond.

The choice is clear - offer neither of the non-top-20 players to close the most important deal since Nieuwendyk for Iggy.

And I do believe Treliving/Friedman when they say neither Mangiapane or Tkachuk were on the table, because if they were, Jack Eichel would be on this team.

Can we not keep Eichel conversation to the Eichel thread.

well that isn't true...I push back against people who are just negative

the FACT is there are 30 teams that didn't acquire Eichel and we have no idea how it will turn out

Its also a FACT we have no idea what it would have taken

Buffalo loved Krebs, Tuch had more points than Mangiapane last season and actually likes Buffalo

Also it is a FACT that the Knights need to remove more quality players from their lineup.

IF Eichel comes back and puts up 100+ points and the Knights are a top team then we can have more of a debate.

Acting like its already happened is the issue

there is plenty of context here

You don't even acknowledge this could be an absolute disaster for Vegas

Not really sure how that is relevant and what’s hilarious is that KFF, who is a mod, posted directly after Jiri and seems to have the same viewpoint that Jiri had on the post… so??

Why should a normal member care about tone policing?

Coffee is a good guy. He speaks passionately and usually apologizes when he crosses the line.

Nah. No way Buffalo wants a year of Tkachuk for $9M only to see him fly the coop or get traded with significant retention for a mediocre pick. He's nothing in their long term plans.

And Tuch v. Mangiapane? Tuch has a rehabilitation risk with his shoulder. But other than that, a locked in great contract, a similar point production, size speed and he's a home town kid.

What a weird take. Anyone can have an issue with tone. You don't need to be a mod.

For the record I love Mr. Coffee and he is one of my favorite posters on this site.

As if being a mod or not makes an opinion any more valid. What a silly comment.

All members should be concerned about tone. And there was no policing. Apologizing if you cross the line is fine. You don't always know if you cross it without someone saying something.

Well he did say anyone to start that sentence so maybe Jiri held an opposing stance on that position which compelled him to respond?? Jiri is also a solid poster as well and I also don’t have anything against Mr. Coffee so I really don’t see the issue for Jiri to bring up concern of tone when the line pretty much invited anyone to respond.
