At the end of the day, when you get to OT, it's gonna be the mistakes that ends the game. We just happen to be the team that did that. Move on to Buffalo and make them pay for not giving us Eichel.

Coleman bailed out Zadorov with less than a minute to go.

He does all the small things right and his value won't be in assists or goals.

I think we can all simply agree that 8-3-5 is a weird record

Really fun game tonight with a stellar goaltending matchup. As good as Johnny was tonight though, it's such a shame he doesn't have a better shot. He could be McDavid good if he was just a little bigger and had a better shot. He needed to bury one of his 10 tonight. Although, Carter Hart's performance was unreal. Think Lindholm's exasperated reaction said it all.

Another point in the bank though, so I guess we'll take it. Especially with that Zadorov turnover with 10 seconds left, I can only imagine the meltdown CP would be going through if that turnover resulted in a goal.

Nope.

“Loser points” is a BS narrative that doesn’t exist. .

In the past this would have ended as a tie and the flames would be 8-3-5 with 5 ties.

It’s actually the points that a team gets for winning in 3v3 / SO that prop up a team in the standings.

(Really the solution is a 3-2-1 points system but nhl is too stubborn to do that)

I think that rebound was pretty lucky for them. It was a hard shot onto the pad, no way to smother it, and pretty hard to control just right. A little to either side and the Flames have a two on one the other way.

Yeah it's not bad but it's not really great as teams around them are starting to win more games like the Ducks and Knights.

Pitlick, Lewis, Lucic, and Richardson…too many scrubs

Dube is doing nothing now

And the old Monahan is gone and not coming back

Andersson and Hanifin are second pairing trying to do too much

And yeah zadorov is a joke, almost lost the hard earned point by himself

The regular season isn't necessarily about wins vs losses. It's a points race and a loser point is very important. If a team hypothetically didn't win a single game all season long and instead lost 82 overtime games, they would still end up with 82 points which isn't far off from a playoff position.

Points percentage is the true indicator of where the team sits and at 1.3125 points per game, the team is on pace for 107 points which is the same number the Flames won the west with in 2018-2019.

Did you see him save a point with 15 seconds left?

Coleman saved a goal there for sure

Andersson has all of 17 power play points spread over four seasons - I’m not sure what he’s done to deserve unchallenged #1 time.

Nothing to do with Andersson

Sutter doesn’t fully trust Kylington yet

And Hanifin is even worse

So there is nobody

Thanks to the wizard, Treliving

Sutter knows what he’s doing. Maybe he stilll think that Kylington is a bit of a risk and isn’t ready at this point.

Taking an OT point a little harder and more seriously than necessary in here.

I used to malign teams that were propped up into playoff spots by all the games they got to OT.

But mostly because we weren't them.

Now we are. I think we should chill out though because 13 of 16 games with points will pay off later in a huge way.
