Gonna be a nice luxury to have 4 pairs of penalty killing forwards

Yeah, it gives Coleman the option of shooting, deking, or passing it back.

If Lewis hold the puck until the faceoff dots he may not be able to make that pass and has a worse shot.

Seems sensible to me.

Yes, but he can give it to him later than before they enter the zone. Makes the goalie move side to side and lose his net a bit.

I do not like the Flames having to play the Isles’ home opener. Especially as hungry as they’re gonna be.

Right? Like tonight with the Flyers HOF. What is with teams lining up special occasions with playing us?

but Coleman can still pass it back to him - nothing was lost, just letting the better player run the 2 on 1

If you're Johnny there, how do you not go up to him and say "literally all you had to do was hit the puck with your stick in the general direction of the net."

I look at it the other way - tough first game at home after a 2 month road trip

Meh, not a big deal but I would play that different. I was always taught to not pass on a 2 on 1 so early not just to not give the goalie time to set but also gives the defenders more time to catch up.

Yeah. If Richardson and Pitlick can become a reliable pairing too, it's gonna help keep everyone fresh as the season goes on.

It wasn’t right in the wheelhouse, but it should have been handled. I actually think the target might have been Lindholm and the better play was to let it through and drive the net for Lindy’s shot.

But every player bobbles a pass now and then. I hate criticisms of a single mistake on a play. I was just bemoaning the fact, not complaining about Andersson.

Because Johnny isn't a dickhead POS?

They will have a long opening ceremony like this one, where hopefully the Flames can chill in the room again.
