Still a very solid career but those first two seasons had me thinking he would be an absolute force to be reckoned with and sadly it never materialized that way for his time with the Flames. Congrats to Dion though, 1000 + games with the style he played is a feat in and of itself.

First three seasons were very impressive. Not sure if it was injury issue or between the ears but he was never the same after year three.

I really liked this player. He was the prototypical Sutter player, he had a great on-ice personality for the fans, his PIMs, and of course he had the hits and the shots! I'll remember the one game he missed the net 6 or 7 times in a continuous cycle. Also when he broke the glass twice in one game, iirc. He is my age, so I always pondered what I was doing with my life when he signed his 7+mil contracts.
His tenure is marred by his exit, and the team was dysfunctional towards his end here. I sure wish it had turned out differently and they had all somehow just got along- I think his career would have been way different if he had more time here.
All the best to #3.

read that he lives in LA with Elisha and their child.
according to google he made $82 million and his wife has a net worth of $20m.
also read that he was captain of the leafs longer than Clark and Gilmour.
solid career; however, peaked very early on.
I remember reading something about this, I understand that this is temporary because she's on a Netflix show that is filming? The Ranch?
I tried watching it but its horri-awful.
But their permanent home is PEI. I think SN did a story on it once, because as I recall that place in PEI is freaking awesome.
Either way...I have a love/hate thing with Dion. I thought he was great for the first few years, I was actually somewhat glad when we traded him though.
Not overwhelmed at what we got back, although Stajan was basically worth it all by himself, but even at that point Dion was fairly clearly a declining asset as evidenced by his play in most of his other stops.
I met him several times as he was attending the U of C's Human Performance Lab and I ran into him at The Den a few times.
Contrary to some other people's experiences every time I met him he was a really nice guy, very polite and friendly.
Either way, he isnt a hockey player anymore, just a regular dude who is probably going to be suffering with lingering hockey injuries, so congrats to him on his retirement.
I mean...he gets to live off millions in a mansion in PEI with Elisha Cuthbert....there are worse things.
