Kevin Labanc skating with the Sharks' 4th liners today.
Also, Scott Perunovich D has been called up to the Blues. Some posters wanted no part of Perunovich as a possible trade piece in a Tkachuk deal. So far the Hobey Baker winner has 20 points in his first 12 AHL games this season.

Contract could be ugly. Or could be a steal if he dramatically turns it around.

Pavelski makes a lot of sense until you consider his acquisition cost (likely a first round pick), his cap hit and the fact that Dallas ain't close to packing it in.

Labanc played on Barrie with Mangi and Andersson too.
Probably on the same line as Mangi I would guess?

?
He's a middle six player on a middle six contract producing like a middle six player.
There is zero issue with his contract outside of "how do we squeeze it in".
This isn't Blake Coleman where he'll be 35 in the final year of his deal either.

Labanc-Monahan-Mangiapane could be more of a scoring middle 6 line and Coleman-Backlund-Dube could be more of a checking middle 6 line.
I'd really like the look of that

It would be a really strong lineup, if a line is cold you roll the other two as the top lines. Lots of options.

Labanc is alright, but I think we could fill it with someone better. And getting him ties our hands on getting anyone else.

I can’t forgive him for missing an L is his surname. Leblanc rolls off the tongue, Lebanc has to be spit out. GMR for unjustifiable reasons.

I am fine with him in a Tkachuk trade if it includes Kyrou

Both Kyrou and Thomas look like they're breaking out this season. If they were available before they likely aren't anymore.

Depends on if they want Tkachuk.

That boat has sailed. Flames would have been way better with the package that was floated.

It was floated by the media though so basically irrelevant
We can make up trades but that doesn't mean they are actually doable.

Yeah I don't know if it was ever a legit offer from STL, but if Tre had traded Tkachuk for Tarasenko and Kyrou/Thomas he'd look like an absolute genius right now IMO.
A great many of the fans here would have roasted him on a spit the day the trade had happened though.

Some pretty big conclusions to draw based on a 15 game sample size.

What conclusions?
Sure it's a small sample size, but based on that sample size it would currently look like a genius move.
In the summer people thought Tarasenko was basically finished, and that Kyrou/Thomas would never be as good as Tkachuk.
All three of those players are currently outscoring Matty. Of course that could change.

Just my opinion, but I think that even when Labanc is scoring, he is so vanilla. There's a reason he's on the 4th line right now. There will be better trades IMO.

The conclusion that after 15 games a franchise altering deal would be a genius move. Maybe these players sustain their pace but I think it is too soon to say the Flames missed out and for one we are taking Shane O’Brien for face value and believing there actually was a deal to be made around these players.

If Tre was offered Tarasenko and Kyrou/Thomas for Tkachuk and had accepted the deal, he'd look like a genius right now.
That's what I said, and it's true lol
Hardly "some pretty big conclusions"
