Not only is Monahan producing again, he's the centre on a legit good line at 5-on-5 with Mangiapane and Coleman.
He's not a fourth-liner and he shouldn't play there. It's not his game.

He was never just gonna be the 4th line C. Sounded like this was the plan all along. Get money up to game pace for a few weeks on the 4th line and ramp him back up to the top 6.

People forget he started on that second line with Dube and Mangiapane, and I think Sutter must have figured after those that his game speed wasn’t there.
I also think putting him with Lucic and Lewis for a few games got his hitting game (such as it is) going. You can’t just turn on a physical game.
