Stealing this game, taking their mojo and going on a winning streak sounds like a good plan to me.

High danger chances are 9-7 Calgary

Leafs have pressured the d men on the breakouts pretty good tonight. I'm not seeing a ton of room in the neutral zone.

No they're not. They're 9-9.
Meanwhile Toronto has 65% of expected goals - 2.2 to 1.2 overall, and 81% in that period. That was... not a very good period. They bled scoring chances.

Would help change the pace of the game if we can get a power play.

The Flames had a *lot* of low-danger shot attempts in that period... Corsi doesn't really paint the right picture of that 20 minutes.
Leafs controlled both CF and xGF in the first period.

I really, really like this goalie.
Hope we give him some support before all's said and done.

It's been a remarkably boring game, but I don't feel like the Flames have been getting owned or anything, even if the Leafs have been way faster. Second half of a back to back, just do whatever it takes to grind out a win even if it's ugly.

No they didn't. They had 56% CF, which is a small gap for a single period, and only 51% of xGF, which is basically a coin flip.
Hope it doesn't sound like I'm hounding you about this, I actually am just disagreeing.

You get it.
All circumstances considered, this is a great game. And the back up giving a chance to win is all anybody can ask for.
Which has been a rarity in the Flames crease.

Refs are really dropping the ball tonight on that front.
Probably 4-5 obvious ones missed on Toronto. Don't know what the deal is, particularly after a few straight advantages for the home squad.
In most games, you'd see a Flames advantage in the back half of that second period.

Well are you watching the game because we are getting dominated. only the dark side of the Force is keeping this game tied so far.

Eric Francis’ comic ability makes Dane Cook look like Patrice O’Neal.
