1-1-2 on this homestand isn’t great.

Markstrom has either been lights out or fighting it…needs to find a better middle ground.

Lots of positional saves for Hill and pucks just weren’t finding holes.

Andersson was pretty bad. Zadorov looked awful. His hit led directly to 2 scoring chances.

Otherwise Flames played pretty good but were lacking the fight for some reason. No killer instinct.

The loss wasn't on zadorov. They just didn't have any finish.

I really noticed that tonight.
There were so many opportunities where our guys just held onto the puck for half a beat too long.

That game was barely watchable. Nothing but fumbling and whistles. Flames probably still played better than the Sharks, but couldn't capitalize.

Markstrom wasn't the reason we lost.
Not even close.
We need to score more than one goal in games like this.

The Sharks goalie Adin Hill played well but he also has a different style where he's on his knees a lot and I think that threw the Flames off a bit.

The Flames outshot them 38-26 and the game winning goal was kind of a fluke deflection off Zadarov. There's going to be games like this.

6 out of 10 points on this 5 game home stand isn't so bad, 2-1-2.

Honestly it's easy to look at that game and say we got goalie'd but there were a lot of things I didn't like

- not a lot of speed through the middle of the ice. Admittedly the Sharks with a limited roster chose to clog things up but you really see the limitations of Monahan and Lindholm in particular in games like this. I'd have liked to see more from Dube and Backlund too, in that area. Seemed too many breakouts were going through our wingers.

- Hanifin's lack of footspeed. That should NEVER be something to complain about for a guy billed as a strong skating defenseman. Tanev and Kylington backcheck like crazy when they get caught out of position, Hanifin just gives up on the play. Frustrating. Even an old Gio would give you more hustle on some of those sequences and he was washed up. The Sharks 1st and 3rd goals just really make you wonder why Hanifin is always being praised for his speed.

- Zadorov's first pass. I was groaning so hard ten seconds before the GWG because he coughed up the puck to two unchecked Sharks for no discernable reason. It won't show up in the replays but that turnover caused the goal.

- Markstrom's positioning on the GWG. Not saying it wasn't a deflection, but from that angle it should have just hit him.

- Sutter using the 3rd pair with the 4th line. There is literally only one player on that five man unit capable of taking over a shift and it's the corpse of Monahan. If you really wanna roll all the lines and pairs, at least don't combine that combination. At least when Valimaki is back in we'll have added some skill. Can we please get Phillips called up? And inject Duehr into the lineup? Lewis and Richardson and Zadorov... they're filler players. I have to believe we can do better.

Agreed. Like, why do we even have to ask.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Adin Hill ended up with a .973 sv% and 2 assists. He was the star of the game.

Difference really was the bounce the Sharks got and the lack of finish from the team in the second. The game was there for the taking, but a couple too many posts and some point blank misses.

Flames really need more secondary scoring here. Top line has been on fire all season, but they can't score every game. So when they're kept off the scoreboard, the Backlund line and Monahan line needs to contribute. Thought Sean's line was actually quite decent and he had a really good chance in the third there. Dube as well had a boatload of chances, but this is the do league and almost just doesn't cut it. More execution and finish from a handful of other players will be necessary going forward.

Dome fans bring library atmosphere, get appropriate result.

Team could get a bounce or two but we can do a better job giving them some jump. Give them every advantage they can get. You pay good money, put on your jerseys and hats and make the trip. What are you doing????

Being a Tuesday is not an excuse.

People in attendance should forfeit their upcoming tix to fans who will get up out of their seat and show some appreciation for the boys and their strong start.

I think that Valimaki slots in for the beginning of the roadtrip, and Zadorov plays against prospective trade partners. Zadorov was just out of position too many times in that game to not be noticed by the coaching staff.

I expected this kind of game from the guys. Tuesday night game against a team that should be easier to win and after bunch of winning they are feeling loose. That's why I wanted to change line up and play Duehr to add some excitement.
Hope they learn how to win this kind of game.

I don't want to go there but three of four games where finish bites them.

Eichel-sized hole on the Flames scoresheet.

They've shown they have it on the road though. Maybe we can learn how to translate it to home ice.

At least the coilers lost, that somewhat salvages the night

Tough game to lose after carrying much of the play.

Still game was tied coming out of the 2nd intermission and it was the AHL team that came out and took it to us for first half of the third. I didn't like that too much.

And at least we weren't dominated like they were. But we did fully take our foot off the gas in the third.
