Meanwhile, the current president has been accused of actual sexual assault, and that is acceptable for Democrats. Not a problem.
The fact is, both sides are guilty of ignoring the sins of their own party and exaggerating the sins of the other. Don't act like it's one-sided here.

I was unaware of that, and don’t want to derail the thread to get details.
Both sides, many sides. Okay.

Came in to see what the blood thirsty mob was saying and left after reading the expected garbage that shows up in all these threads lately. Here’s a fact. Every single human being isn’t perfect. If judging is now synonymous with “critical thinking” we’re all screwed.

Sure, but group chanting "she's a whore" and "suck my dick" is a long gone strike away from perfect. Not only is outrage over this disgusting idiocy justified, but also is the judgement.
I'm always more confused by the folks that tip-toe around defending this kind of behaviour under the guise of "we all have skeletons". It's such a strange take.

Agreed and I think it's also perfectly appropriate to point out the failure for anyone to intervene and put a stop to the game. Lots of people could have. No one did.

I was more commenting on how ugly internet mobs get, as this one was winding it's way up. We should all just remember crowd mentalities really warp the way people see things and act in the moment.
Hopefully they come down hard enough that it is easier for most to buck the crowd next time, but not so hard the push those who were followers or silent further away. Internet self righteousness isn't going to net a positive number of friends in the long run.

Yeah, so ugly in here. Downright savage. In some ways, you might even say worse than calling a teenage girl a whore and chanting suck our dicks in an arena full of people, including her parents.
Oh wait, no, that’d be an idiotic take.

A crowd of boys telling a female hockey player to suck their dick and shes a whore isn't the difference between being perfect and making a mistake. Defending that stupidity is beyond me. Time for those idiots to learn a life lesson.

I say tar and feather everyone involved.
But seriously, not a good look for anyone involved. There is room for redemption in this world, but it is certainly fair to judge people on a personal level based on their actions. There are consequences to being a butt-hole and these people should be punished on some capacity. That being said it needs to fit the crime which is not as bad as Rape, Murder, assault.
I think the family should sue for harassment . And the offending team's fans should start a campaign to change their culture to something less....this.

While I think you have a point, I think the strong reaction is justified. Bullying has no place in society and in some situations needs to be met with much stronger actions. The behavior shouldn't have been allowed and the game should have been stopped until it was dealt with.

Accused by a woman so lacking in credibility that she passed herself off as an expert witness in criminal cases, resulting in a number of convictions being overturned.

Seriously? The mob you are referring to is standing up against the attitudes and actions that were wrong and hurtful towards this girl. Right now is probably not a good time to be educating cp about "mob mentality". Do you feel it is actually helpful to minimize or redirect focus away from what happened to this girl? Mob mentality exists in many situations whether it is in sports, the office, or otherwise; Let's support this girl so that the bullies involved are the ones who are being held accountable.

Not defending it. Simply stating that there are people in a position to judge and deal with it who know all the facts. Judging from your basement computer and acting more righteous than another does nothing for society. When you’re in a position to make a positive impact on the actual situation, please do so with real actions not internet garble.

You seem like the kind of fellow who says things like “but I’m not a racist” after saying a bunch of racist things. Or “but he’s actually a really good guy” after describing a bunch of ####ty things someone has done to women.

So the answer is to just stay quiet and let it slide? And just hope somebody else deals with it?
The behaviour is disgusting, and the people who you hope are going to deal with this are also the people responsible for creating the environment where kids think it ok to behave like this.

I don't see any difference between this situation where no one in the stands stood up to say this was wrong and the Blackhawks players and management that ignored the situation with Kyle Beach.
When you sit in silence and ignore what is so blatantly wrong, you are part of the problem and not part of the solution.

I'm sorry, are there facts I am missing here? I must've misunderstood the situation and how there is actually more context to this situation that completely changes whether or not the people chanting in the crowd are diarrheas in human form.
Oh wait, no I am not. Bad people started something bad and other bad people joined in. We can't allow people to wash away bad behavior because it was done in bulk. If we read about any one of those people just approaching her in the parking lot and saying those things we would not make excuses, so why do people reach to make people less culpable because they did it together?
