He's always been fast IMO. Just takes him a while to get up to his speed.
What amazes me about Lucic is how good of a passer he is. Always tape to tape.

Lucic has always been an underrated skater. For as long as I can remember, he's been considered a good skater "for his size". He might be a bit quicker this year, though....

He is awesome. Does it all, on and off the ice. Chips in offense. Deters bad behavior. Provides leadership intangibles.
The fact that EDM people were still arguing for why they won while Neal was sitting out last season simply because he was going to be bought out, while Looch was one of the three or four best skaters on last year's putrid team and Edmonton was paying for him to actually contribute here really emphasizes how far removed from reality they are. Nevermind the two kids that were also complementary oiler donations in the transaction.

I was a huge Lucic fan when he played for the Bruins, and the Kings (I had Lucic t-shirts from each team), and desperately hoped we would sign him when he went FA. I really loathed him as an Oiler though. I also think I was one of the few that was happy when he finally came here! He's still one of my faves to this day. We probably have the toughest team in the league, and Looch is our nuclear deterrent.

|
Lucic is an awesome player. While he does have a huge disadvantage with regards to agility he's always found a way to be effective and produce. He doesn't take very many bad penalties and is one of the best enforcers in the league. The only knock I have on Lucic is any time he gets near edmonton his play seems to become not good, especially while playing for em.
