Truth is he was done already when he left the Flames.
Yeah he was clearly not performing well during his last year or so with the Flames. Thought he was young enough to still turn it around, but it’s absolutely a misrepresentation of facts to summarize the situation as the Canadiens ending his career

I also blame the Canadians for that time I got into a drunken fight with my brother-in-law...and the Flames are the only team other than Montreal to win the Stanley Cup in Montreal!
