Hawks are headed for a prolonged decline reminiscent of the Bill Wirtz years.

I'm not sure if he was a good coach or not but he looked super smart in those glasses.

how much have Toews and Kane hurt their value? I assume both will be moved sooner or later as they tear down and rebuild

Kane will always have decent value especially if they retain salary but Toews is going to be tough to move.

Toews didn't have any value to hurt. He's a good player, but that $10.5 million cap hit has always been pretty close to untradeable. Two eight-figure contracts on the same team is a sentence to a long stretch in cap jail.

I don't buy this. I think a big part was coaching. They hire Tortorella and they become a much better team.

Colliton is a solid guy. It sucks but it’s business.

He will never be a head coach in the NHL again. He must be so happy.
He's only 36 years old and up until this season, the results were pretty much as expected. I think he gets another shot at some point after taking some assistant roles, that is of course if he wants to stick with it.

Derek King has his work cut out for him. It's not like Rockford was setting the world on fire either.

I remember playing Chicago pre-2008.

In Patrick Sharp's younger days

Place was devoid of hope.

The Chicago Wolves used to compete with the Blackhawks in those days for attendance.

Always thought it was weird that a 33 year old with just one year of coaching experience became a head coach in the NHL. With him being a local guy from Blackie, AB it will be interesting to follow where he lands next.
