I dunno, I think a lot of it depends on where you sit. I once sat in the lower bowl behind the visitor's bench and was amazed by the crowd noise versus all the times I sat in the upper bowl.

As a 19 year season ticket holder, 4 games in 7 days like this is a tough ask, so tickets usually do go elsewhere for at least one of the games or potentially not used.
I do expect the Saturday nighters like tonight to be a bit more lively throughout, not just on goals.

It might be worth it just to yell at Fox.

Man, to listen to Sutter talk hockey is a goddamn pleasure.
The McDavid question is annoying because it's exactly what it is. The media pumping it's stars. Because it's the Oilers is 10x more annoying. Makes you wonder why that reporter asked the question.
I do like how Sutter is matter of fact while being complimentary. "It's not 1 on 4 it's 1 on 1 and when you give him that....."

Yep, still a viable plan. That gravel surface lot to the north (NE corner of 12th Ave and Olympic Way) is still in operation. It's $15 this season.
The construction seems to all be on Macleod and between the Train station and the Dome where the Corral used to be.

Any word on who's starting in goal for the Flames?

To me this is the only downside to living in suburbs. Going to Flames games can be a chore.
If I lived inner city I’d probably go to waaaay more but then my house would be waaaaay tinier.
Alas.

The only thing I'd add is the stampede grounds parking seems quite a bit smaller due to the construction. So get there early. First time I've ever seen them turning away the south east back side parking area.

as someone who goes to alot of games I never get too worked up one way or another about the noise in the dome, but I would say that the circumstances right now are pretty unusual (and could work in both directions I suppose towards more or less lively crowds)
last weekend was my first game in 1.5 years, and my first time in a large crowd really indoors (I did attend two outdoor ball games this summer). I (like most ,but not all) was masked essentially throughout
I think some people are still adjusting to new circumstances- for some that may lead them to be louder than ever after two years cooped up, for others (maybe like me) there was a surreal feeling to being there- I'm not saying I didn't cheer etc but there wasn't maskless bellowing on my part either
dunno, this is going to take a while I think

Do you think the Saddledome is loud?
Personally I think a louder Saddledome would make a difference, but I'm not sure how you go about fixing that.

you are totally misrepresenting what he said is what I think

A game against a tired team, after a hard loss to the evil doers up north, I suspect this might be a trap game.
Prove me wrong Flames.

Calgary is notoriously known for being quiet, especially during midweek games due to the high number of corporate season ticket holders. The only time the Saddledome is load is the first 2 minutes of every period. First 5 minutes in every period when they make the playoffs.

Did I say it wasn't?
I said Darryl wasn't taking a dig at the Saddledome crowd...he said the new buildings are cookie cutter so all the same. Compared the dome to the old buildings..they were talking about what makes a building hard to play in not just crowds.
did you even listen to it?
I wasn't commenting on if it is or not...just that he is misrepresenting what Darryl said

Yeah I've been to about 10 NHL arenas. I'd say Calgary and Anaheim were the most similiar and the quietest. LA was pretty loud.
Can't remember where I heard this but someone suggested Canadian arenas are quieter because they understand the game and are intently watching instead of just treating it like a fun night out.

The Dome is nothing like Anaheim. That place is like a book club being held in a convention centre except without the enthusiasm.
I was there and they pumped fake crowd noise into the arena...when fans were allowed.

Such is the nature of being in alberta with the top player. Can't get rattled about it. Just smile and nod, keep winning and give them a story thats more interesting and worth taking about right here.
Any other team on a 9 game point streak?

And that is similar to Calgary. Anaheim arena is very similar to the saddledome in even the way it is outdated and looks cheaply done. I was amazed at how much better the Staples center was and being pretty much 10 minutes away.
This was about 5 years ago so obviously that makes a difference.
