there was a fair bit of stick work on that play. Klingberg was waving his stick around Tkachuks head just seconds before, but Tkachuk was much more intentional about the stick swing

Using Subban as an example, Chucky can do this at least two more times without suspension

Should have fined Kingberg for embellishment. If Tkachuk hit him with that motion, there would have been blood on the ice for sure.

The Comeau high stick on Gaudreau was way worse.

Interesting they saw fit to fine him here. This is different than the Comeau high stick as Comeau was trying to make a hockey play, whereas Tkachuk was basically slashing after the two were battling and he got him up high.

I'm thinking this was a message to him to stop complaining about calls.

I thought there were missed calls both ways and a few bad calls against the Flames. The worst was the delay of game on Markstrom. That official 100% let the Dallas player make the call, but the Dallas player wasn't even all that sure himself, he kind of half heartedly put his hands up asking for a call. The ref couldn't see anything.

Two bad games in a row from the zebras.

Didn’t he get a penalty on that play? And a fine on top? That doesn’t make sense. It wasnt that terrible.

Lame call is lame. NHL needs to come down hard on officials who blow calls like this, nit support them with garbage fines.

They asked him to write "Wideman" in the memo line of the cheque he sends in to DOPS.

It looked mighty on purpose to a lot of neutral viewers. I suspect the NHL viewed it the same way. Right or wrong, that was the take.

That’s true. Though Comeau already had just missed Gaudreau with his first bad stick lift and went at it again with recklessness.

Tkachuk needs to be smarter with his sandbox plays. I think he meant to forearm Kilingberg but he wasn’t looking where he was.

Don't really see anything there that warrants a fine - player safety really hates the Flames.

Even as a Flames fan it looked purposeful. It was not a hockey play and Tkachuk should stop letting his emotions get the best of him. As much as he said the talk about him possibly being traded to Buffalo didn't faze him, in the heat of the battle, maybe it did?

Tkachuk doesn't have neutral viewers get real

Dunno about the talking back part, but he definitely high-sticked Klingberg. If you slow the play down you can see that K's stick is high and his hands are up, but Matty's stick catches him on the front of the face or maybe on the helmet/visor. But it's definitely there and it was definitely intentional. At least the ones on Johnny were just stupid and careless.

Chucky needs to keep his emotions in check sometimes and learn to pick his battles.

He means whatever Tkachuk said earlier isn’t he game to get the unsportsmanlike.

How does Comeau not get a fine for his high stick on Gaudreau?
