I would rather have Kravtsov (for Petterson + florida's 2nd) and Tarasenko + Perunovich + 1st (for Tkachuk + Zadorov retained). Those are three players that can each take the team on their shoulders on various days.
I also think that Tkachuk is going to take the 9M$ next season and roll into free agency.

Forgive me I wasn't sure where to ask this. What is the current status on Zary? Still on IR? Is he skating in Stockton?

Agreed. He hasn't looked the same since whatever happened.

So which player is next up to be on Tre's radar that he can miss out on somehow?

A 6/7th defenceman at the deadline for a 3rd or 4th rounder.

There's a bunch of ways this can bigtime backfire for Vegas:
If they miss the POs entirely. Then they can't "Kucherov" Eichel and then they have to sell good players for nothing (or negative value).
If the injured players return early and the have to sell at negative value.
If Eichel has a bad recovery, a slow recovery or no recovery at all (though then I guess they'd have $10M to spend).
If they do all this and Lehner is still no good.
The only way this really works out is if all their injured players recover at a cap-friendly pace and they win the Cup. And then they still have to lose a bunch of salary.

I doubt we see any movement soon. If Eichel was moved in the offseason, I think it may have set some dominoes in action, but at this point, I think the team is what it is. The early returns are good, but for a team that is unapologetically in win-now mode, they probably need to do something big at the deadline.

I would love to see us get Filip Forsberg.

Forsberg and Hertl are at the top of my list. I hope they are at the top of Bradley's too.

Forsberg and Hertl are pending UFAs. Do we really want to spend futures to get them and then try to extend them in the same off season that we have to extend Gaudreau, Tkachuk and Mangiapane?

^ Negotiating an extension as part of the trade would make him a great target.
Forsberg would be a solid Swedish addition to this team.

Forsberg would be a solid get. Aren’t they both UFAs? Hopefully the rental price isn’t too high, given that.

Sweet. Maybe BP can give up 80% of the cost of eichel to aquire some pending Ufa veterans
Where does hertl slot? I like him but Monahan would have to leave too. Monahan+1st+2nd for Hertl?
Forsberg for 1st+?
I thought we needed our picks and prospects? Maybe not
What are you thinking? These guys aren't depth dmen, I'm not sure they'll be on BP's radar for an in season trade anyway

Those two are at the top of my list too. Hertl would be the perfect consolation prize for missing out on Eichel-size, scoring, 200-ft acumen, and plays C.

Eichel is 25 and has 4 more seasons left. Plus if he returns to form he is an elite number 1C. He came with a risk for sure, but i was OK with that.
I don't want the Flames to spend some of the futures on big ticket pending UFAs only to risk them walking a few months later. If they want those players there needs to be an extension negotiated with the trade, otherwise just wait and go after them on UFA day.

The way Tre has worked in the past, I’m sure he will be looking into getting some sort of a conversation started on an extension, before trading for rentals.

I wouldn't bank on SJ trading Hertl to a division rival.
Forsberg isn't impossible given they recently traded Arvidsson to LA.

You're right, I wasn't aware that those 2 are UFA after the season.
