I have to think Treliving wasn't actually interested and just wanted to drive up the price. He could have easily beat this package involving Monahan as the centrepiece.

So essentially it's Tuch, Krebs, and a 1st?
No way the Flames rumour was true. Removing the 2nd 1st changes the entire complexion.

That's just a bad deal, should've been beaten.

So I’m told, but his numbers are worse than Zary’s, so I’ll take that with a grain of salt.

Wouldn't be shocked if the 2nd or 3rd is conditional and can become a 1st rounder as well with an injury condition.

Easily. There's no way he was trying...hard.

I imagine Sabres fans will go off the rails today too. That's surely not the deal they imagined.

Zary is also 8 months younger than Krebs.

Great deal for Vegas, I have to respect them for consistently having guts. They’ll never be mediocre.

Monahan a modified NTC. There’s no proof he would be willing to go to the Sabres.
Sounds like Buffalo really liked Krebs. And Tuch is no slouch.

Thank the gods this is over. Now we can get on with the rest of our lives.
I'm certain the fire tree threads gonna kick of huge today.
But in all reality, I'm really okay with not having pump out a ton of assets for a broken player. Regardless of his quality.

Feels like a trade where Buffalo really wanted Krebs, and were determined to make it work in order to get him. Had the feeling we had the better overall package but couldn't match the level of the top prospect.
Similar to the Hall to Arizona situation. By all accounts we offered a better package of players and picks, but NJ really wanted Kevin Bahl.

Yeah I honestly have no idea as well but that's apparently what people who get paid to know this stuff, think. I had no idea Krebs was already in the NHL with 0 points in 9 games. Woof.

No points in 9 NHL games and a -6. Now that is a teeny tiny sample size but how can you be THAT much higher on this guy than Zary or Coronato?
Tuch is a nice piece on a good contract but hes hit the 20 goal mark once. Monahan has 7 times.

Glad this situation is finally resolved for Eichel. I hope the surgery he elected works out for him in the long run. On that note, too bad it can't be with us. That said, I hope this move really sinks Vegas' season.

I'm not pissed we missed out, but I'm pissed Vegas got him for that. Stupid Vegas.

Well this is a big failure of the Flames management.

I'm guessing Buffalo would have felt that
Monahan > Tuch
Krebs > Zary (I disagree)
Knights 1st > Flames 1st

Friedman was on Toronto radio this morning and said he thinks the Sabres asked for Tkachuk and the Flames said no, not the other way around where the Flames were offering him. My guess is we offered Monahan, a prospect and a first and the Sabres liked Krebs alot better than the prospect we offered. Plus the Monahan contract talk above. If it would have been two firsts instead of one maybe that would have done it.
