I am starting to really think the Flames are being used as a decoy to squeeze more out of Vegas or another team we don’t know about. It is just so weird that all we hear about in Canada from Friedman, Dreger, Serivali, Johnston is that Calgary is involved in talks.

The report from Weekes seemed like a completely unbelievable offer and I doubt he would have those specifics from anyone other than Buffalo.

All the prominent insiders have stated that it was real close with Vegas on Friday and into the weekend. Something fell apart at the last minute and all of a sudden we hear that Calgary is serious. We hear today that Adams is trying to close the deal so he leaks a rumored offer from Calgary that has most people already calling it an overpayment. I think he is trying to create leverage out of thin air and close this deal. Sounds like pressure is mounting and he may have backed himself in a corner.

From what we have heard from those who have a more solid reputation as insiders is Vegas has been further down the path to finalizing this and that players like Tkachuk are not being offered. If I were to wager I think Eichel ends up in Vegas by the end of the week. I really hope it is Calgary but I feel like the ESPN team may have been taken for a ride to try and drum up interest. US media is getting the leaks so it is coming out of Buffalo

The teams reported to be in on Eichel are Vegas and Calgary.

Tocchet, who is extremely close with Berube, just mentioned the Blues.

I've heard they've been interested.

Tocchet mentioned "younger players" potentially going to the Sabres, but there would have to be more $$$$$.

I still think the price is too steep for a guy with a serious neck injury. The flames would be better suited going after a lesser target. Perhaps a Kopitar becomes available if LA decides it’s time for a rebuild as well as the Sutter connection.

Really not a fan of trading Tkachuk unless the organization knows he wants out. All teams in the league want a player of Tkachuk’s skillset and intangibles. Don’t think it’s wise to move that asset for an injured player with so many question marks.

If this doesn't happen for Vegas, they go on to Plan B and will have another major deal to go after.

Treliving has not been a guy that pivots quickly. I think he keeps hammering until it gets done.

Maybe that 3 way deal that has floated around? Tkachuk to STL? Hence the blues guys all mentioning Tkachuk to buffalo as being false?

If we don’t get him, I’d rather see him on the Blues than Vegas. Keep him out of the division at least.

If Calgary loses out on this deal I feel Gaudreau is gone. If he's gone there really is no point in attaining Kopitar. Not saying that I wouldn't like it though.

I don’t think it would be an issue at this point. I think he would probably welcome a trade anywhere just to get back to normal. Plus, he signed on long term in Buffalo.
