I knew it would come down to this.
I'm one of biggest Chucky fans but if it takes him plus others in a package to get Eichel, we do it.
Our chances to resign JG at a reasonable cap hit go through the roof IMO if we land Eichel.
Can you frickin imagine JG and Eichel on a line together? Jesus christ.

I feel bad for Weekes if this is not the offer. Someone just used him, and he didn't confirm it. Difference between a journalist like Friedman vs an ex-player being insiders. Sounds like the agents stirring stuff up and putting more pressure on Buffalo?

I'm not gonna lie. I don't like this deal. Eichel is no guarantee to return to form, and we gouge our current line up
I understand giving good players for good players, but this actually makes me sick.
As much as I didn't want it, I prefer Monahan as the piece going back, even if it means more picks to compensate....

I have been huge on trading for Eichel and I do that deal all day before this season started but I am not sure the Flames can really afford this without Buffalo sending back some guys that help right now and Girgrensons and Eakin don’t cut it.
Part of me feels like this is leaked to get Vegas to close but if I am Vegas I look at that offer and they can’t top that without going Krebs, Theordore, Tuch, 1st, prospect.
Twitter seems to be as hot for the Flames as they ever have in them closing the deal.
I really have a hard time believing this is the offer

I think the last 5 years have been a huge step in developing prospects. Anyone remember when the Flames had 1 Flames drafted player (backlund) in the lineup for a while? I do.
Flames are really starting to draft well and this would be another step back after that Hamonic disaster.
I have no problem Tkachuk being traded as part of an Eichel deal. To be honest he really annoyed me with his comments in the off season about his brothers contract status. But this trade offer makes no sense for the Flames if true. They can trade Tkachuk for a big return if he isn't part of the future here. Adding so many pieces with him for Eichel makes 0 sense.

Tkachuk is our 4th leading scorer.
We can trade the 4th leading scorer and a defenseman who’s more Luke Schenn than Luke Hughes for Jack Eichel.

Based solely on the “Tkachuk” family historical contract bargaining history…..Mattie’s extension is going to be challenging to say the least. I love the guy, I mostly love what he brings, I love his game considering his warts, but I wouldn’t want that gun to my temple trying to get his next contract done….Eichel or no Eichel…..
