If this is the case Eichel will be a Flame. I’d guess former 1st rounder is Valimaki.

Maybe Chucky’s contract represents too much uncertainty and it makes buffalo nervous. They could end up in the same situation before too long if he’s not interest in signing long term with them.

I don’t understand if the “former first round pick” is Tkachuk or in addition to him.

So only one other player is a former first, and it isn't a prospect? That's Valimaki.
And the prospects are not a former first, meaning it's guys like Wolf, Heineman, Mackey, Phillips, Zavgorodniy, Pospisil, etc?
Losing Wolf might be the toughest pill to swallow of that bunch.

Pretty much what I reckoned.
But if this doesn't go through, I think the rumour lessens our chances of a long term deal with Tkachuk. Not that I figure there was much hope of that anyway...

I think prospect probably means any non NHLer (first or not), and former first rounder is a player.
