My office needs this trade to go down this week so I can stop refreshing this page and get some deliverables out the door finally…

I mean it would suck to lose Kylington the way he’s playing lately, but we had him on waivers last season when he could have been picked up for free.

If he’s a significant piece to this trade that’s a great example of selling high on a player.

That’s the crux though. When the player is sizzling us fans don’t want to see them go.

F that. I would much rather keep Kylington then getting Eichel.

Yeah. Last year (and even now, perhaps), people would have been fine with 2-3 of Lindholm, Mang, Monahan, Kylington, Valimaki plus some of Coronato / Zary / Pelletier. Now, I think that’d be very risky.

I know Eichel is good but a guy slated for major surgery isn’t risk free.

Only two teams left, perhaps.

But we really don’t know, it certainly wouldn’t be the first time that the media was wrong.

Not a prospect that may very well wind up being nothing, like most typically do. If it turns out we refused to give up 2 of these prospects, I guarantee you we look back on this and say what the #### were we thinking not doing the deal.
Jack Eichel is hurt with a potentially career ending injury. Nobody understands how good he is, especially you.

It’s a massive risk to give up assets to get him. Even worse to give up a steep asking price. He may never play a game for the flames. If he does, he may not play many or may not be any good.

we're at the one yard line, but there's a flag on the field. There always is a flag on the field.

If ESPN is reporting this, and it was very definitive about being down to two teams, I’d take that at face value.

And seems small but being mentioned first I think/hope could be material too (first Weekes, now Kaplan).

Pretty clear Buffalo keeps leaking to try to get teams to up their offer. They just need to get past their own ego, admit they effed up the situation and make a trade. No one is going to get ultra desperate for a guy who can't help your team for 2-3 months.

If the Flames did land Eichel and he got the surgery asap what would his expected return be? Would he play this year?

Let's say Dec-Apr. That's 5 months. Seems a bit hopeful but would for sure be exciting.
