Big Turks - gross. I find it hard to believe these can be someone's favorite. I bought one at a store one time because I had never had one. Instant buyer's remorse, I still remember it and that was like 20 years ago.
Plain cake doughnuts - delicious and underrated
All sorts licorice - disgusting, pure filth
Scotch mints - can't say, I'm not sure if I have ever had
Eichel - good player, kind of weird lookin, would be a welcome addition

I expect if CP posters were making this deal it would have been done months ago. Thank goodness Treliving actually knows what he is doing.
I don't know. If some CP posters were making this deal, it wouldn't be done yet. We'd be offering Monahan + Lindholm + Hanifin + Valimaki + Zary + Pelletier + Coronato + our next five (unconditional) 1sts, and Adams would be holding out for our right arm, our left leg, the Calgary Tower, and a can of Spam. He may not be much of a GM, but I'm sure he knows a sucker when he sees one.

To Buffalo:
Zary
Pelletier
2022 1st (top 3 protected)
2022 2nd (Flames choose between own pick or Panthers to send)
2023 2nd (becomes 1st if Flames makes WCF and Eichel puts up 70+ points)
Zadorov
To Calgary:
Eichel
To any team that can make the deal work:
Monahan
To Calgary:
2022 2nd Round Pick
2023 2nd Round Pick
This seems pretty reasonable for all teams.
Best case scenario for the sabres, they get:
A pick between 4th and 12th overall in 2022 (if the flames fall apart this season);
A 2nd round pick in a deep 2022 draft;
2 of the top 3 prospects from Calgary;
Another 1st round pick (between 28th and 32nd overall) in 2023 if eichel makes a strong recovery and excels with the flames;
A physical defenseman who could easily be traded for another 2nd round pick at the trade deadline this year.
Worst case scenario for the sabres, they get:
A pick between 28th and 32nd overall in the 2022 draft (if Calgary does well this year)
2 of the top 3 prospects from Calgary;
Two 2nd round picks from Calgary;
A physical defenseman who could easily be traded for another 2nd round pick at the trade deadline this year.
It’s a good haul either way for a seriously injured eichel who is missing 3-5 months of hockey this season.
A thread like this is why I follow the NHL. I love the passion that you guys put in. This is the third (?) thread about a rumor regarding an injured player in another team?
My guess is we will get him and it will turn out great. We deserve it. You deserves it. Vegas don’t. Their fan base(?)needs to sit down for a minute and accepting the fact that their first couple of seasons was plain wrong. It was funny the first 40 games. Not anymore. F### them.
And since I’m normally is just a lurker in the forum I want to send out some more f### you.
F### you:
- Chicago
- Rangers
- Royal mountain
- Toronto
- Edmonton (for five extra likes)
And a bonus f### you to the Yankees and all dumb Swedish persons wearing the stupid Yankee cap not knowing it is a Yankee cap.

Thanks for all the amazing Swedes we have on the Flames!

A broken necked Eichel who might not play until next season, and may not ever be the same as he was, should not be returning Monahan, two of our top prospects and a 1st round pick.
Monahan does not have positive value right now. His inclusion is pure cap.
Eichel is most definitely worth two top prospects and a 1st. And he’ll likely go for at least that.

This is probably my favourite Eichel goal here. He has a pass blocked, creates a turnover, but then gets in back and scores.
He actually has many goals that make me laugh because they are down right ridiculous, but this one really displays how dominant he can be when he takes over a game. In my opinion.
Not that I am not really nervous about going all in on him because of his situation, but I can see why most people want to go for it.

Yup, pretty much.
Lindholm and Gaudreau have their moments, but they don't do stuff quite like that (lindy's SHG probably the closest example).
Johnny tries that angle about twice per game but Eichel just made it look easy.
That's the kind of stuff we would have to look forward to. Turning not too harmless looking plays into goals like only elite talent does.
And that PBP voice is legendary. Easily the best thing that the Sabres have to their name.
Is it possible Eichel will have a worse and longer recovery from surgery than Monahan?
Will fans be more patient with Eichel?
Not likely, this surgery has shown that people are pain free immediately and athletes resume their sport within 3 months at worst with full mobility, and these athletes are in mostly football or MMA sports.
Buffalo screwed this up big time, had they let him get the surgery last spring he'd be playing now and would still be their captain and most likely best player by a long shot.
I fully believe the rumors that this is all about a billionaire owner not willing to take a chance against an archaic insurance policy that doesn't have disc replacement as an option.
I feel like I must weigh in on this important topic.

Agree with most of this, but Liquorice All Sorts are awesome. Anyone who doesn’t like them is …. Probably an Oilers fan, or a commie.
Except for the weird little gelatinous puck-shaped ones. Those are gross.
Fun fact: apparently liquorice all sorts were invented around 1899 when a confectioner accidentally knocked over his display and all the different candies got mixed up.
I have nothing to add about Eichel. It happens or it doesn’t. If it does I hope it’s in a deal that makes sense long-term.
Not likely, this surgery has shown that people are pain free immediately and athletes resume their sport within 3 months at worst with full mobility, and these athletes are in mostly football or MMA sports.
Based on reading about both surgeries and outcomes, both Anterior Cervical Discectomy with Fusion (ACDF) and Artificial Disc Replacement (ADR) will have similar outcomes when it comes to pain. ACDF requires a longer recovery time because of the need for bone grafting to take, but it provides greater stability and less risk associated with implanted material migrating and causing problems. Pain still remains a problem with both surgeries, but mostly residual pain from already damaged nerves healing.
I would like to know what list of athletes that have had this surgery and were able to return to their sport. Chris Weidman is held up as the shining light on the hill, but who else? I've seen Peyton Manning's name thrown around, but he did NOT have ADR as some have suggested. Manning went through a number of treatments and finally relied on a fusion surgery to gain the stability in his spine and strength back in his throwing arm.
Buffalo screwed this up big time, had they let him get the surgery last spring he'd be playing now and would still be their captain and most likely best player by a long shot.
Did they? They had a leading expert in the field examine Eichel and make the call on the type of surgery to have. The recommendation was ACDF versus the ADR. Based on reading about the differences between the two and the reasons each surgery is recommended, there may be more to Eichel's injury than we know. Eichel my be suffering from a degenerative condition where ACDF is more likely to solve the problem short and long-term and not put the player at risk. I would leave this to the medical experts to make the call, and the Sabres have a leader in his field and advisor to both the NHL and NFL for injuries and surgeries like this.

You shouldn't believe rumors. Try and get to the facts. Here's an article written by a Sabres scribe who covers the whole issue pretty well.
