Yeah wtf was up with that? I always thought for the longest time it was 1.68. and then they rounded up?

I love it, I hope it really boosts his confidence and the team's confidence in him.
You post numbers like that and people are gonna notice.

Hmmm on wiki it's still 1.69!
and here too. and what? Brian Elliot has the record for GAA in a season??! sacrilegious
https://www.si.com/hockey/all-access...ikka-kiprusoff
in this CBC article too.
Kiprusoff thrived in the Calgary net over the ensuing months, setting an NHL record with a 1.69 goals-against average, eclipsing Marty Turco's 1.72 mark set last season.

I kind of wrote off Batherson in the summer as not being worth that contract yet, but he's proving me wrong right out of the gate.

The difference is whether you round up the seconds of playing time to the nearest minute or not.
65 goals against / (2300min32s / 60 min) = 1.695259 ≈ 1.70
65 GA / (2301 min / 60 min) = 1.694915 ≈ 1.69

Either way. Crazy numbers. If that was the end of the dead puck era… looks like Kipper may have been the goalie that finally killed the puck.

Markstrom is doing some best goalie on the planet stuff that Kipper used to do. All you can do in these times is just sit back and marvel.

When you have a good goalie, you have a chance to win every night. And the team plays with more confidence.
Let's hope Markstrom can keep playing well (I have no doubt he can).

You could hear from the response in the stands that he sucked the hope from every fan in the place as well as their broadcast crew. The PBP were mad, then knew just scoring a goal would be an impossible feat by the 3rd period.

Closest I could find was 3 in 5 games for Miikka between 2/20/11 and 3/02/11.
SO Vs. MTL
L Vs BOS
SOL VS SJ
Then back to back SOs vs STL.

I don't remember that, but it's certainly possible with Kipper.
I'm just glad we have elite level goaltending again which we haven't had since him.
I was ecstatic about this signing last year, living in Vancouver and seeing how good he was for them. I'm glad he's now showing everyone who didn't believe it or see him as often enough to know it.

I get the gripe though.
Even though Kipper was amazing, the only thing he had going against him was burnout and then the odd bad night.
It skews the stats a fair bit.
