Only five kids so far - off to a slow start this year. Kids better hurry up before I eat this stuff myself. Why are coffee crisps so good??

I enjoy chocolate bars but once I start eating chewy candies like Starburst or Jujube I just can't stop myself from eating them until I am sick. I was a big fan of Skittles in the past as well but they actually make me sick now for some reason.

My house is dark, not handing out any candy (I don't have any), and I just had a couple teenagers bang on the door repeatedly and quite loud until I answered the door and told them "my lights are off, I'm not handing out candy." I'll maybe put up a note if I get anymore knocks but I found that quite rude.

Last year was our first Halloween in our house, and we had hardly any kids. I knew post covid lockdowns we'd have more this year, but I vastly underestimated how many. We're in a small circular street with around 50 houses, but I'm already well north of 100 kids. 3 boxes of candy disappeared quick, and now I'm into the two boxes of chips that I had bought for our own snacking

And I'm done. Scraped up enough candy for 120. Have nothing left.
Crazy as the 1st year I lived here we had about 30 or so kids
Now it's becoming a destination neighborhood.

About 60 kids here in West Hillhurst, down from about 80 last year.
From trick or treating with my kids, I've learned that they are looking for decorations as a sign that someone is home - jack o' lanterns, inflatables, lots of lights. The days of just exterior lights on/off won't make you a favorite destination of the neighborhood....

We handed out 400 pieces of candy - approximately 200 kids. And as others have said, still tons of kids out. We are in Airdrie. I love seeing so many kids out for Halloween!
