A rumour is factual if something is actually being discussed. It doesn't need to actually happen to be a factual rumour.

On rumours...I do market stuff...last week 48hrs before it happened I got all the information for an upcoming trading halt for a small cap company. It was going to be a cap raise at a discount to send one of the company's new drugs to the clinic.
When the stock went into halt I checked the forum pages that follow the company. It always amazes me how 90% of posters are no where close to what's going on, but there are usually one or two that nail exactly what's going to happen.
Moral of the story...the interweb rumours can be spot on.

No, there is nothing factual about a rumor until we get confirmation the discussions actually took place. We don't now what is being discussed or if any discussions have gone down. It's all hearsay. That's kind of the point. Some media types suggested the Flames are hips deep in this Eichel thing, when they may or may not. An ex-player suggested the Blues were interested in Tkachuk and the package he heard was the one listed. That was picked up by media types too. Both are rumors and remain unverified. We won't know until a deal goes down and someone is able to confirm if there was something on the table from the Flames, or what was on the table from the Flames. That is the whole thing about rumors. They are all innuendo and not based on facts.

Lindholm is an automatic hangup. I want Eichel but Lindholm is untouchable imo.

I would agree with that. Lindholm provides flexibility in the lineup and is on a crazy good deal that makes the team better. He's a guy you can't move at this point.

Lindholm’s contract is way better and frankly I’m not sure the difference in point production moving forward in general. If Eichel outscores Lindholm it won’t be by much.

I would add Tanev, simply because he improves whatever partner you put him with and that is a very hard quality to find for the money.

as good as Tanev has been i'm giving 3 years of Tanev up for 5 years of Eichel any day of the week.
Lindholm is the only untouchable on this team imo. Markstrom a close second.

I can respect that opinion, though it's looking more like 4 years of Eichel if this drags out any longer. I just don't think Tanev is as valuable to other teams as he is to the Flames. He moves the needle a lot further on the ice than as part of a trade.

Agreed unless a deal can't be reached. Hopefully you keep Mangi too. Gaudreau, Lindholm, Mangi, and Eichel is a solid core going forward.

Why not?
Without an extension...he is very likely not here next year anyhow.
Not that he would waive to go to Buffalo, but if you can deal him for a different elite forward signed for multiple yrs, you kind of have to....or you could end up with nothing.

I agree. If the Flames got Eichel, you'd kind of want Gaudreau around to pair with him.
