My God, how I missed the Dome! This was a fun game to watch!
I think my sole criticism of this game was not enough "go flames go" from the crowd for a great performance and first game home after a perfect trip. Particularly in the first half of the night.
I was really expecting more from the faithful tonight.
We had a deafening building in the 00s. The Dome was an intimidating place to go into, and we had one of the best home records year to year. I'd like to see us get back to that.

They're Calgary. They shouldn't be taken seriously at all. Calgary is a place where people with too much skull commune with each other and bond around barrels of burning newspaper. It's like St Louis without the redeeming qualities. And St Louis is nothing but rusting rail yards and bum fights, so it has no redeeming qualities to begin with. If Philly's subway system suddenly prolapsed and spilled forth into the real world, the result would be Calgary East.
Calgary is the kind of place where people use ketchup as pizza sauce. Their favorite vintage of wine is made by cracking open a can of Juicy Juice and letting it sit in the sun for two weeks.
All of this is the fault of their hockey team. Things were better before the Flames. Look how much better Atlanta has gotten without them; they've got an aquarium, which wasn't possible when the Flames were dragging them down. Everyone agrees aquariums are good.

The core problem is were missing 2 top forwards, our top Defencemen and it's our 3rd game in 4 nights on the road against a hot team... their still in this game.....last time I looked at the roster we were not the Oilers of the 80's or Wings of the 90's. Team is going to struggle to score more often than not (no matter how hot we started) and play lots of games like this that were going to rely on good goaltending and solid special teams until were healthy...... Give that there were only something like 14,000 there I thought they did pretty well -- when the Flames started to tire, the fans started the chants. And a big ovation at the end of the game. Fans have to warm up, too....

We were talking about it, actually. The game was played in such a disciplined way, it was almost surgical. There was no reason to cheer. And then Tkachuk got hit and the crowd came alive all right.

Loved Mony's game last game and this game. He's finally finding open space in the slot and in front of the net again. He's slowly getting his rhythm back. and if he gets back to what made him successful, this team will be real dangerous.

But hey, remember that we will never win with them, let’s just trade away our most skilled players for some other team’s depth players, because any change is better than no change, even if it makes us objectively worse, and let’s fire Tre because a bad trade would have been better than making no significant trades…
Turns out what the core was missing was a coach who knew how to utilize them properly and put them in a position to succeed. Which they hadn’t had for years until Sutter’s return.
I have to disagree, I think the new additions have also been a factor. Not sure last season's team would be doing as well as the current team.
