What is more satisfying? Cgy gets Eichel and it works out or Vegas overpays and it doesn't? The former for sure, but if the latter happened, I wouldn't feel any sympathy if I heard Vegas fans crying.

I don't think so. There'd be other roster players involved in the trade, wouldn't they scratch them too?

Not necessarily.
Given eichel is on IR, the trade could very well be Valimaki + prospects + picks.
With some kind of cap dump trade like Monahan coming later. Maybe a flip to Ottawa or even VGK should they lose out.
