For all we know Brad offered a stupid overpay and Vegas is going to one up it...these are NHL GMs we are talking about.

Its also impossible to know what Buffalo thinks of certain players or prospects

With the complexities of this deal I think the structure and framework is completely done and agreed upon between Vegas and Buffalo but there are so many details that need to be ironed out. Unless it falls apart at the 11th hour I think it is just a matter of time.

Lots of risk for sure but if Vegas pulls this off and get a healthy eichel in their lineup I think the odds of the flames coming out of the division are pretty much done for a half decade. Oilers witb mcdavid and draisaitl, Vegas with a very good core + eichel. Even if one has an off year ypu have a second team with a few top 20 players there and odds of them both having an off year are pretty much nonexistent. the best the flames can hope for is Vegas at least beats the oilers and shuts then out of a cup.

I am very happy the team is off to a great start because losing Eichel is a tough one. Why did we have to be named as one of the final teams? Why get our hopes up? I just wish we were never mentioned rather than being rumored and coming up short again.

That is the thing about the last 3 years of inactivity in the trade market. We are always a team listed to be in on someone so when we fall short it becomes so much more irritating with each passing player.

The Oilers shut themselves out of cups. This year is their window.... when Nurses contract kicks in they have no cap space and have to resign Yamamoto, PullanRV and another goalie. They aren't contenders, especially since Mavi and Raisatl can't cut it in the playoffs.

But I understand your point.
