Default Flames 4 Penguins 0

Game Takes: Flames 4 Penguins 0

- Markstrom epic in shut out
- Flames go 5-0-0 on the trip
- Calgary scores four without Lindholm and Mangiapane!

I saw someone say on the PGT that the 4th line got caved in in fancy stats but looks like it was the 3rd?

Love to see the Scandinavian trio thriving…

I’ve always liked all three of them and hoped they all somehow became stalwarts on our team.

Sutter is utilizing them well and getting the most out of them. Their confidence should only build.

Good times!

You made me look it up!

Scandinavia
Scandinavia is a subregion in Northern Europe, with strong historical, cultural, and linguistic ties. In English usage, Scandinavia can refer to Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, sometimes more narrowly to the Scandinavian Peninsula, or more broadly to include the Åland Islands, the Faroe Islands, Finland, and Iceland.

As a full blooded Norweigian (well 50% anyhow) i will allow the broader definition in this case....only because i had the same assumption the bulk of my life until corrected a few years ago.

Uffda!!!

So this would be one of the first games where the Flames were outplayed correct?

Hopefully just a blip at the end of a long road trip and a result of defending the lead all night.

They were a tired hockey team which is no surprise. 4 games in 6 nights is a heavy load.

The encouraging thing IMO was that the majority f gaffes they made were more physical than mental. Again to be expected after a heavy road trip with a ton of flights and sleeping in a different spot every night.

I think they will be just fine...though playing again tomorrow isnt ideal. 5 games in 8 nights will exhaust anyone.

Three things:

Fancy stats are for losers.

Backlund is not a lock for 40+ points bases on 3 pts in 7 games.

How to the Flames work Mangiapane's 14 M salary into their cap after his 60-80 goal season?

Fancy stats are for people that understand them.

The Backlund comment is tongue in cheek, but a likely outcome in my mind which is why I wrote it.

Why be such an ass? What's the point?

It's pretty pathetic behavior. Basically you have a fan base who is feeling really good after a 5 game winning streak. Ricardo appears to be trying to drag people down to ensure they can't enjoy that.

Again it's pathetic. What type of person spends time on a web site trying to make people feel worse or take away their enjoyment.

Some people are only happy if they are making others miserable.

I think it's similar to how some Brits don't like being called European.

Isn't this what we all do to Oilers and Canucks fans?

I don't know what others do, but I sure don't spend my time going on their communities and sites and trying to drag them down. I wouldn't have much respect for anyone that does that.

Go on HFOil and try a little of this kind of trolling. In fact, go there and level some mild criticism as a non-Oiler fan. See what happens.

Because misery LOVES company. If it can't find it easily, it will try to manufacture it the best way it knows how.
