I know it's early, but Kylington has emerged (though we can expect some bumps over the course of a full season I'm sure), Gudbranson seems like he can play, and Stone is a competent fill in. That $4 mln would be nice to have in reserve if this team is for real.

Personally, I'd waive Zadorov and bring Mackey up as the #7 D. Mackey was close to making it, and he's a decent physical D who can actually skate. Zadorov is a black hole for a team that plays a hard skating and a quick transition game. He has to go.

Zadorov is fine. People were writing off Gudbrandon on as many games, even just preseason ones.

Nothing needs to be done about him. He’ll get another opportunity to earn a spot down the line and let’s hope he does something with it. The nice part is that, if he doesn’t, he’s a UFA. No harm, no foul.

If the Flames were middling or slumping the fact there is a 3.75M popcorn eater and 2 guys combining for $11.625M cap hits on the 4th line I could only imagine the hate being spewed on Treliving.

I am currently hoping the Flames acquire Eichel and Zadorov is an easy salary to send for cap purposes due to the lack of term. I am also hoping he can work his way back in the lineup because I do like when he can be big and mean which we have seen in the past

I don't give a #### about Zadarov at this point, regardless of his salary. Thankfully Sutter feels the same. HAppy he was only signed for 1 season, as there was plenty of backlash here about it not being a multiyear deal.

I'm sure we'll see him eventually and hopefully by then he'll have had enough practice and coaching to work the kinks out of his game. But at this point he is very clearly #8 on the depth chart.

I'm more concerned about the fact that they gave up a 3rd round pick for practically nothing other than extra depth.

I do like how Sutter isn't afraid to bench him though. Props to guys like Kylington, Gubranson and even Stone for making this possible.

I think we saw a few particularly bad games from him. I don’t expect more than a 3rd pairing D, but I do think his baseline is better than the first two games. I assume he will get back into some games soon before we write him off.

Do nothing. We need the depth on the blueline. Unless the team believes that Mackey is ready for prime time, they need Zadorov.

As Sutter pointed out last night, they’ve already used 8 D. They’ll need him again at some point, either due to injury or to spell off someone after a bad game. Right now the cap hit doesn’t matter.
