I wouldn’t be surprised if no deal happens unless Buffalo absorbs more of the risk of Eichel potentially not getting back to his old level or even playing again.

I don’t think I’d want to gut a team with that risk hanging out there.

Betting if something happens Buffalo isn’t going to get what’s been advertised in the media.

That lines up with what Friedman said on episode of 32 thoughts either this week or last. something like, paraphrased - some people in that organization have had enough of trading assets away to win now and are trying to pump the brakes on doing it again

I know for sure he's been skating (was at the BioSteel camp on the ice there I believe) but uncertain what he can or can't do in the gym.

Some insiders seem to be implying that the threat of a grievance will push Buffalo to get a deal done but so far none of the artificial due dates have meant anything. The longer this goes the harder it gets for Buffalo. Really feels like they overplayed their hand here.

Here is hoping the grievance piece is true and Adams is really trying to get a deal done before they go down that road.
