CGY: 6G / 4-1-1 / 9 pts

(Flames have played 5 road games, the Oilers have played 4 home games)

Maybe we should go ahead and play the rest of the season before we hand them the cup
Was tonight the first time they played a team that it wasn’t their first game or under .500?

That is all the Oilers are. A good powerplay. That is it!

I was impressed by how little it took to give them a PP.

That’s just standard now, have they had a game yet with fewer PP then their opponent?

nhl.com says that before tonight’s game they were on the PP and PK 17 times each. With tonight’s game it makes it 21PP to 19PK. Maybe I’m biased but it seems like the Oilers always get a PP opportunity out of thin air when trailing.

Oilers fans complaining again about a missed call like this the end of the world.

Missed calls happen every game, that’s the NHL

1) DET 3.86
2) CAR 3.80
13) EDM 3.40
25) CGY 2.83

Even if we do go ahead and play the rest of the season, I still don’t think we should hand them the cup.

And even if, in some nightmare worst timeline scenario they were to win the cup, I’d rather the trophy destroyed and the nhl fold to preserve the honour and sanctity of pro hockey. Melt that #### down and turn it into silverware or something.

Pretty sure their entire game plan revolves around drawing penalties. Connor just has to go grab a guys stick long enough to get bumped for it to get that retaliation call.

I wonder if Nick Ritchie regrets signing with the Leafs-8 games, 0 points, -3, only 9:34 TOI tonight. Not that he's a great player or anything....

Flyers were opportunistic. Hart is a difference maker. They were also missing their #1D and #2C so there's a lot more upside.

For all the talk about Edmonton being a good faceoff team, Flyers destroyed them 58%-42%. Giroux 9/14, including 4 in a row to end the game. Coots 8/12.

Atkinson is amazing. Speedy sniper who also PKs. Whata trade, Voracek for Atkinson one for one.

Yandle and Brassard were very steady.

Risto still as advertised. Plays a lot like Denis Gauthier: big, physical, panics with the puck, puts himself out of position to make hits.

Great win, now do it again on Vancouver.
