I could be wrong but didn’t Towes this summer say he had never even heard of the sexual abuse? Now he is saying that he heard about it the following training camp?

The exchange between Bettman and Chev and Quennville should be recorded for the public. Man do I not want some hush-hush slap on the wrist BS from Gary regarding this whole thing.

First of all - I haven't watched the Beach interview yet so I'm not fully informed and not claiming to be.

But I do personally wonder how much the NHL players would have known about a black ace's situation. Beach had spent most of that year playing Junior and I doubt he was spending much time with the NHL guys whether in the locker room or on the ice.

Again - I still have to watch the interview and read up on the details of this whole situation - my only thought is that there was some separation between the NHL guys and the black ace group.

If the NHL players did know though... ugh. Troy Brouwer and Kris Versteeg better never be shown as guests on Sportsnet again. Ladd, Keith, Toews, Kane should be booed every time. Seabrook, Campbell, Byfuglien, Hossa, Hjalmarsson... all of them should never be employed by the league.

I fully expect a 'The commissioner and NHL are satisfied with their discussions with Q and Chev and no further action will be taken on the NHL's part' type statement.

I will prepare to be disappointed but not surprised.

Nothing says "I'm sorry" like an 11:30pm ET website press release.

Pretty sure they’ve been in scramble mode writing and re-writing that statement ever since the TSN interview aired. And then decided that weak sauce was good enough to share.

Also released conveniently in the middle of the night when the media is least likely to report on it.

If they wanted to do a press release, do it right away with minimal detail while announcing a press conference for Fehr tomorrow to discuss the report.

If they take it seriously enough, that would be the way to show it. I guess we’ll see how willing Fehr is to take uncomfortable questions from reporters.

I wonder if it ever donned on these numbskulls that the allegations were trauma inducing crimes, not petty playground banter taken too sensitive. I wonder if it ever occurred to them that by failing to report the crimesrape to police they were abetting a criminal and by extension putting themselves (if players) or their teammates at risk by having this monster continue to cruise around.

Did they not wonder if anyone else was at risk? I wonder if Quenneville told them he cared about them as players, ever, at one point. He didn’t, he did nothing to get them out of way of harm- that’s not caring- that’s the inexplicable selfishness displayed by only the absolute weakest of human beings.

How often does this #### actually happen in hockey, and go unreported? What other cover ups are out there?

What a joke the NHL is. Classless, soulless league interested in literally one thing and one thing only. Disgusting. What a bunch of losers. Not winners, losers.

Jarome Iginla left out the top 100. Toews Kane and Keith in it. This is what the NHL is.

Hey, give Fehr some credit. At least he took the minimal amount of responsibility, directly expressed regret and admitted they failed.

That’s miles better than anyone else involved. Not hard to do better since everyone else did their best to deny responsibility but it’s something at least.

That’s a very low bar, but it’s something. Not leadership, but it’s something.

What an appalling and sad situation. And poor Kyle Beach with not only the trauma to live with, the ruined career and life, now blames himself even partly for another victim he wasn't able to save because he didn't do more. Breaks my heart.

At least I don't have to suffer through Don Cherry's inane take on all this.

They should name the 37 people that refused to cooperate during the investigation
