well actually they are on pace for 95 each and that likely won't last, neither will McDavid at 98, Hyman at 82, or Kassian at 66 I'd reckon

Mangiapane, Tkachuk and Gaudreau all needing new contracts in the same off season is going to be a #### show.

Good problem to have I suppose, as long as they don't lose Johnny for nothing.

You will never find a group of people more quick and willing to commit to autofellatio than Oilers fans. Every single year is their year - and if it's not, then there's either a league-wide conspiracy, a lucky team on a hot streak, or a voodoo curse involved. It's never as simple as "our top-heavy team can't score 3000 powerplay goals in the playoffs!"

This ref crew needs to be looked at for the sake of future games. It's too bad teams can't complain publicly.

I love the Oiler fan who says that Lindholm and Magiapane are on 60 goal paces when they have 7 goals in 6 games. That's Edmonton math again.

Beat me to it.

Always love seeing Oiler fans talk about the Flames getting breaks from the refs and lucky bounces. That never gets old.

I know it’s only 1 game, but mangiapane projects to 164 goals.

The preceding line is David Staples approved!

Anybody still of the opinion that Sutter hockey is smash-mouth hockey? LoL

Yeah, Gaudreau, Lindholm, Mangiapane - not built for Sutter hockey? I knew Gaudreau is because he has a high compete level. That's Sutter hockey. Just the sheer relentless waves. So damn refreshing to see.

I wasn't worried about the forwards. I liked the additions and felt that they really played towards an identity for the team. The defence really worried me in terms of the transition and generating offence, but so far so good! I think they are all getting better at moving the puck forward more quickly - they haven't done this since Bob Hartley's tenure. Sure, they don't have Gio, Brodie and even Wideman back there whipping passes right onto player's tapes, but they are moving it quickly, and so far, hasn't seemed to be impacting the transition negatively.

If they keep-up with their relentless 2-way play (and I think they will), they will take the division. I think things will get interesting when they hit the inevitable dry-patch - a losing streak coupled with a goal-less streak - but Sutter knows how to guide a team through that well enough.

Also, they are fun to watch. I still see some unforced errors at times, so not everything is ironed-out, but it is coming along nicely. Exciting times ahead.

Leads league in assists

17 PPs
19 PKs

On the season.

So favoured.

And this coming from the team that gets 6-1 PPs against the Ducks on the back half of a back to back, and errant pucks bouncing off Flames right to the stick of McDavid at the left circle on the PP.

I'd say the team with a solid systems play under an elite coach beating good teams against the grain of a brutal early schedule looks more earned, and sustainable.

It’s calls (or non calls) like this that make goalies shake their masks off on the slightest feeling that a strap may be lose. Same thing with the post maybe being slightly off. If the refs would make the right call it wouldn’t spiral into goalies selling these calls which they of course will do. That was brutal tonight
