Yikes.

Edmonton has already played three of those teams.

So at the end of the game when we got the PP, Sutter starts with:
PP1
Lucic-Monahan-Coleman
Valamaki-Gudbranson
Then line changes to:
PP2
Mangiapaine-Dube-Ritchie
Andersson-Hanifin
Maybe the Lindholm line was tired? Nope. The Dube line had just finished a 1:09 shift prior to the PP.
The Lindholm line had a 20 second shift with just over 3 minutes left in the game. That was it.
Sutter sending a message.

I don't know if he meant it was a ball call or a bad penalty by Kylington.
Also lol at Francis asking the exact same question as another reporter.

I was hoping Darryl would have shut him down, saying he already answered that question.

Sutter has these guys where we hoped they’d be last season but the hire was too late.
He gives me hope they can play to their potential. But most of all he has them working hard, and to me I personally appreciate the effort and it’s way more interesting and fun to watch regardless of outcome to be honest.
Super refreshing to watch the good start so far but a win tomorrow would be the ultimate cherry on top for sure. Will be a tough game though with the back to back and 3rd game in 4 days.

I don't think it was a message, I just think he was saving the top line, since they are back at it tomorrow night

What does everyone think: could Sutter be contemplating back-to-back starts for Markstrom? Maybe the reason for playing Vladar in Game #4 was so that Markstrom would be fresher to play in NY and NJ.

I'm so happy Kylington is getting more opportunity. Big fan, think he'll be a big part of this team moving forward.

If they play a full game like that and keep chances to the outside, i don't care who they play. That said, I think Markstrom goes again. Sutter is going to emphasis on a quick start to get some runway.

On the top line not playing much towards the end of the game, why risk Gaudreau (or the others) getting slashed in the dying minutes of a game that we are winning quite handily.

Pretty standard stuff not to put out your top players for a PP late in the game with a large lead
unless you are the Oilers

Plus being up 3 goals, with a power play lasting until the end of the game.
Literally no reason to read anything into who was sent out.

We aren’t the Oilers either trying to run up the score so Elias can get another goal. Mcdavid and Leon would have played the full 2 mins of the pp

What a game. Super solid effort. It was a complete 60 minute game. I haven’t witnessed one of those in some time.
I think the opponent isn’t the best measuring stick but we looked authoritative.
Didn’t like the running of markstrom but there was so much more to be happy with.
Eats bread. This kid wants it so bad.
Kyllington is really fast and offensively gifted.
Gudbranson on the pp? Darryl is the dman whisperer.
Hanifin is growing into his grown man game.
Tanev, always nice to see him get one.
Coleman’s oil for the team. Texas tea.
Backlund. Surprising dangerous. Him playing with lucic and pitlick is a neat look.
Markstrom played great.
But to the crow. I don’t mind the taste. I have eaten it many times.
I’m happy to keep eating it in this case. It’s a good stretch. Yet the season, as I was told as nauseum during my pessimistic attitudes directed towards the team over the years and after the Anaheim loss, is still early. I hope this low event hockey keeps rolling with fast aggressive tenacious play. I believe in sutter. He’s a real coach.
My over under for the goal total is still 200 for this team but I’m happy to be wrong.
