Lifetime Suspension

Is it just me, or are the officials being very stingy with awarding Flames PPs this season?
Opportunities few and far between, while the infractions committed against them are happening with regularity. How many times have players made passes at markstrom already this season? Virtually none it is getting called. What is called is only when the Flames jump in to protect the guy and deter it.
Bologna.

True enough, refs need to call a penalty on NYR there to protect the goalie. With no penalty being called, Andersson was smart.

This year's team seems to be miles ahead of the team we watched last year. They have an identity and a swagger that was lacking all last year. Fun and exciting. I like it!

Big 3rd period coming up. The team knows they’re going to have to be better to close this one out, and I’m sure Darryl will give them marching orders.

In a nutshell, this is what Sutter hockey looks like. His teams come to work and don't get outplayed.

I feel like Sutter has gotten better as a coach since he was last in Calgary too. He's found a way to play his system while still letting guys like Gaudreau play their game.

Thought they managed the 2nd period well, they didn't throw pucks away as they would have in the past. They seem to be holding pucks and going on offense.

Lucic and Ritchie are not doing their jobs
Gauthier needs to lose some teeth before he hurts someone

Still must drive him crazy when Gaudreau turns those pucks over at the line.

Rangers had some chances, but the D is keeping things to the outside, no rebounds, and most importantly, no cross-crease passes.
Markstrom has been excellent. But also, the D is giving him a chance to be.
