Monny had a great first period. Hope he builds off that and gets rewarded.

Chilly looked good using his speed and ability to carry the puck.

Great period

Ritchie sees the goalie come out and makes sure to pull off to not injure anyone

McDavid could learn a thing or two from that

That was a STRONG first period, could have been up by two or three if not for Shesterkin

Yup, near identical situations.

Hanifin forced a shot with a wide open open, whereas Johnny fed Tanev (despite being a worse offensive option in theory).

Granted maybe Hanifin saw something to shoot at had it not been blocked.

All good though! Great period overall.

It's becoming more apparent with every passing period that Kylington/Tanev needs to remain a thing. I thought they were outstanding.

3 beauty passes on Tanevs goal. The 1st pass by Kylington was sharp, Lindy pass to Johnny was sharp, Johnny pass to Tanev was sharp. Tic tic tac toe.

That was so pretty start to finish.

Both guys can skate and pass

Makes it so much easier to play defense when you are able to get the puck out after winning it
