It's a moot point now but the thing I thought was that he was only trying to frustrate or hurt the Liverpool player He kicks the ball but directly into the player with no hope of it going anywhere. If he is trying to play on he would be pulling the ball backwards no?
I dunno if it's a red but I don't see that he was trying to do anything other than to piss off or hurt the other player by kicking the ball into him from that distance.

Oh sure, and the fact that United's attacking duo are so old I think they're actually collecting pensions...

What was Wan-Bissaka thinking there? No chance of winning the ball.

I agree with that.
I'm just clearing up the the dishonest claim he was kicking him directly.
Would have had zero complaints if he had walked.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a worse display in the Premier League. Norwich were battered 7-0 by Chelsea yesterday but you're looking at two clubs there with very different resources, so it can be excused to a certain extent.
Not good for the game in general when a team shows up that unprepared to play. Just embarrassing.

United are very reminiscent of Arsenal when they started receiving regular spankings against their then rivals.

They hyped this match for two weeks and United couldn't even make it a competition for 5 minutes. I would say Ole is definitely gone now but you never know with United's board and owners.
Keep him United! He just needs more time!

How good is Mo Salah right now though?
Best player in the world right now?
Saying that as an Arsenal fan, but have to give credit where it's due. He's in another level right now.

nah, he's 100% gone. 5-0. At home. To Liverpool. No United manager not named Ferguson could survive that.

Don't think he is unless there is someone lined up.

I've been watching since before the Premier League started. I remember the 9-0 Ipswich match, but again, Ipswich had no resources to bring in good players and Manchester United were head and shoulders ahead of everyone back then. It isn't so much the scoreline from today that shocked me, it was how poorly Manchester United played. I think someone mentioned earlier in this thread that their strategy was to put ten men behind the ball and try to release Ronaldo on the counter-attack. I watch most of Liverpool's matches and I can't think of a worse strategy against a group of players that enjoy one touch flicks to break down defensive schemes.
You absolutely cannot carry a thirty-six year old that can't run in a match against a team like Liverpool. They'll run you into the ground every time, as we saw today. Obviously I'm just a guy watching on TV, but I'm not sure how Solskjaer could be so naive as to allow something like this to happen.

well if they haven't already spent weeks looking for alternatives, then the club is a bigger clown show than I thought.

What a day. With Utd games I'm always a bit nervous going into it, because you never know how it's going to go. Form tends to go out the window so I still anticipated them causing us problems, but man Liverpool just absolutely dominated and bizarrely I'm actually a little disappointed that it wasn't more than 5.

That was a bit of sportsmanship. Once Pogba was sent off Liverpool threw it in Cruise Control.
I was hoping when they brought Mane on that he'd bring some more attack, but it was a kickabout for the better part of half an hour.
United sat back and Liverpool really didnt press. I think there might have been 1 shot in anger in that last half hour?

Well then you'll be aware that as brutal as that was there had been n many worse performance in the PL.
And Ronaldo isn't the issue. Far from it.
