I can't believe Vancouver won this. They had no business. Demko should be making all of Pettersson's money.

Wait until Francis gives Giordano a 3 year extension at about 5 or 6 million a year

the Canucks are at the end of a 7 game road trip and played Seattle on their home opener.

This was Seattles playoff game and the Canucks weathered the storm.

Except it isn't just about distance.

The goalie reacts to the way the shooter shoots - the type of shot, the flex of the stick, the direction, the amount the player tries to raise it, etc. All of that is part of the instinctive reaction of the goalie, that happens as the shot is being taken.

A tip changes the direction, after the goalie has started to react to the initial shot. So they are moving the wrong way. Then they have to see the change, register it mentally, and react to the new direction.

And there simply isn't time for that. It hits him, or it doesn't

Yep, no goalie in the history of hockey has said tips are easier to stop. There is a reason players try to tip shots.

Well it's six games and Flames don't have any sympathy for the Canucks schedule because the Flames is far worse

Just to add this, here is what the view is from outside the arena.

Honestly, pretty damn good seats if you ask me.

I absolutely love arenas with lots of glass at the ends of the rink. Reminds me of some of those cool arenas in Europe. Those nosebleeds look like great seats.

Do they have some kinda blinds if the sun is shining in? they must

I played a game at Winsport in the morning one time and it was super weird with the sun in your eyes and shadows on the ice

On rewatching I was wrong about the tip position anyway. It was halfway and caused a real flutter.
