And that’s the kind of record you can expect if you are the better team but are not put together to be dominant. It’s a Sutter hockey record. Which is why people shouldn’t get overly crazy over losses.

The SCF Habs have 4 goals in their first 5 games.

Interesting stat: The flames have scored 11 goals this season, only 4 goal scorers (lindholm, mangiapane coleman and tkachuk) only 3 of which have scored on a goaltender

the flames have some players who will break out, only a matter of time. I’m curious to see this offence when other lines start clicking. This team may not be as bad as I thought

Every time he has a game like this, I remember the ATL from that trade and how a Carolina fan called his shot a muffin. The first year he showed up to Calgary his shot has been excellent and now the most reliable on the team.

I don't know what it is but I have yet to see an NHL player look bad in a suit.

Wasn’t Darryl supposed to pull Vladar after the 2nd?

Gaudreau-Lindholm is such a great pair, and having a top line that can put up some big numbers will be huge if it keeps up. One of the biggest issues the last couple of years has been playing a first period like that and coming away with a 1-0 lead instead of a 3-0 lead.

Also really liked Kylington's game. He brings a lot of what we've been missing in Brodie's absence, between his escapability in his own zone and his ability to recover. At this point I want to leave him and Tanev together for the next 20 games and see where it leads.

Team looks like it has some potential this year if both of those things hold up. Just gotta find some middle-6 forward combos that work better and suddenly this is a real dangerous team.

Never, on any team, is every one feeling it at the same time.

You'll always have a couple of guys feeling it at any given time. Right now it's Mangi and Lindholm. A month from now, it will be someone else.

4 games in, give it a break.

We beat the Caps in their barn on a ####ing Matinee in October, and did so impressively. I'm gonna take the win.

Just catching up but that Lindholm short handed goal was a thing beauty.

After 4 games, I don’t think on an overall 60 minute the Flames have been outplayed. Some crap puck luck against Edmonton having puck bounce twice to McDavid. Deserved to be up by more than 1 in the first vs Anaheim and couldn’t finish the rest of the game.
Slowish start vs Detroit but then took over. Today, good start, but even in the tough second they didn’t look outmatched.

Flames do need more secondary scoring. But we’ve heard that since the Hudler Monahan JG line.

I liked the leg stack he did in the third to deny the chance.
And he was VERY strong in the third period in a pressure cooker situation.

I really liked Lewis in the first couple games but he didn’t look too great today IMO.

We need to get Monahan going cause Ritchie in the top 9 is no good.

Great game, going in expecting the classic matinee loss against a pretty good Washington team. Even when the game got tight the team didn't seem to panic or lose composure.
