Ha, well, I don’t think Buffalo is looking for a pending UFA C (next year) as part of their Eichel package somehow.
Monahan would be a salary dump on the trade market at this point. Eichel probably isn’t realistic for this team so better to find a best-use scenario for Monahan.

Are Willis and Loubardias not on the road with the team? I tried listening to the game on 960 last night for a bit but the audio was all over the place and had to turn it off.

No they are calling the game from the City TV building here in Calgary.
SN is a joke if this is a money saving thing.

This was the type of game I fully expect from the Flames. Fairly boring but great goaltending and solid play weathering the pushback in the second.
If the team plays like they did against the Ducks and Markstrom plays like he did against the Wings along with an improved shooting % will have this team in good shape

Are they also a joke if this is a travelling during pandemic thing?

I have no issue with Ball/Hrudey calling the game from Calgary. None.
They are still great.

The only issue is it removes one of Ball’s best skills which is watching the play. But yeah, this is a minor issue.

The question was about the radio crew. Don't know about the TV crew.

Oops yes that's my mistake.
Though my answer remains the same.
Though I don't care for Willis regardless of where he is calling the game from. I think he's pretty awful.

Missed the game but very happy to see Markstrom with the shutout. Would love to see him playing the way he was early last season.

He sounds like a used car salesman and his goal calls are some of the worst I've heard in sports, period.
Nothing against the man personally, but I haven't listened to a game on the radio since shortly after he took over. I can't stand it.

Wills is brutal. His calls are bad, his takes are worse, and something about the way he presents himself on Twitter just drives me absolutely crazy.

We were spoiled with Maher. It's only natural that his replacement is the worst play by play guy in the league.

I agree, but Willis is also poor relative to his peers. IMHO.
As an example, Brad Curle is a superior PBP guy.

Oh believe me, I have fundamental problems with Will's play calls. Half the time I think, based on his tone, a goal is either a save or a save is either a goal.
Nevermind his takes.

Anyone catch Tyler Parsons watching the game?
Could obviously be a doppelganger but it would be pretty funny if it was him.

I'm as happy as anyone, but it's only three games.
Guessing he settles into something that's between the worst case proclamations and what we are seeing now.

Detroit has some quality young players on that team.
