That was the best period of hockey I have watched in two seasons. Tight 5v5 forchecking and they've finished chances.
Who is this version of Gudbranson?? That was some Gio type stuff. Also don't mess with Tanev/Kylington for a long time please.

Also big props to Marky for being sharp as a tack and keeping things square until the Flames found their feet for the first 8 minutes of the game.

I get that their sending him a message but Monahan is an offensive weapon and should be use as such. Play him on the wing if you have to but damn is it hard watching him hold the puck move into space and have no good options to pass to.

By the time Gio returns to Calgary, his plus/minus will be the same as the windchill on Whitemud on a cold December night.... -25

			Gudbransson for Norris!
But seriously, what’s not to like so far? Simple, smart decisions and putting good hard shots on net. Couple apples tonight. Let’s just hope he keeps it simple just the way he has been

Liked the top line though Tkachuk needs to check where he’s passing. Dube line looks good - I think Ritchie is a guy who gets pumped to be on a better line and has a good game, but it’s not sustainable and needs to be used sparingly. Backlund line struggled, frankly. Some due to Pitlick being rusty. Monahan line was OK. One good chance.

I've missed pretty much everything about this game up until now. Is Zadorov not playing tonight? Luckily I can finally relax and tune in now!

Ritchie has heaps of energy but no puck management.

Ritchie can skate for a big man
He needs to stay hungry. That’s been his issue.

If the Wings come back we know who to blame.

I thought the Backlund line had a couple good shifts in the second half of the period. They kept the puck in the offensive zone and won some battles down low.

Coleman's been sneaky good tonight I thought.

Give it time.

Yeah, so far he has shown much better defensive awareness than I saw with Ottawa. He looks a little faster out there as well. In fact he already scored half the points he had all of last season!

Ritchie just has to lay the body on the forecheck and be the big presence in front of the net, Dube & Eatbread can handle all the puck work.

Honestly, once Monahan gets up to speed which is what I think this demotion is trying to do, I'd love to see Coleman paired with Monny. I believe they'd mesh really well.
